I too just received a call from this number, I am a virgin customer and he said he was from Virgin. I heard children's voices in the background, very strange. I am going to call virgin to check what is going on, it feels suspicious.

I just received a missed call and goggled the number and came here. I am also with optus. I added to my contacts under the name "DO NOT ANSWER". That is what I do with all these annoying calls, then I don't answer them.

Answered, your due for a credit on your phone (in a high pitched female voice) then asked my full name, I said who the hell is this , Optus your phone provider, can I have your full name and date of birth, um no and hung up... I will send Optus an email voicing my disgust.

I have received many missed calls from this number. And have been told by Optus that it is to improve their service for their customers, if i was unhappy id be sure to contact them. i do not have the time to hold and wait on the phone, while some telemarketer calls me from India.

the last time I picked up this number, they asked for my DOB and other details, 'to see if I'm applicable' for some insurance they have at 'Optus' that you 'can't get in stores' and if u didn't sign up, it was free for a month, and ten u could cancel it at any time, but u 'couldn't cancel it in stores' so therefore, would have to call them back to cancel it but of course, they probably don't pick up! so I've ignored their call for the pass two weeks now! soo annoying!! from what I remember, they wanted me to sign up straight away asking for more details and I just said, well, if its over the phone then I'm not interested. and they kept saying how secure it is etc. which is probably bs! spam!

I found these comments helpful. Have now black listed this number on my Samsung and was looking to change from Optus anyway.

I actually did call this number back and got a recorded message saying "thank you for calling Optus. We were just calling to check that you were happy with our services." Very misguided attempt at managing customer satisfaction if this is indeed Optus (as opposed to some scam).

Im a Optus customer and answer the call. The indian male asked if I was happy with Optus and I told him yes and no. He then said he would transfer me to customer service , when another person answered and said Salam Alicum! I don't speak Arabic and when she worked this out she hung up!!! Have no idea what the call is about. I'm wondering if it's a debt collector or something else. Is Optus on selling our numbers?

Same, I'm with Optus and I've been getting calls from this number for about a week now. So glad I've been ignoring them! Very annoying.

I have been getting those calls as well. Luckily my mobile is off at different times of the day> Unfortunately I get messages from that number.

Went to phone reverse look up and ended here.

I am with Virgin (uses Optus), answered the call from this number and they hung up after 4 seconds. Googled it and found this thread. Number is now on reject list.

It's a scam I think. I keep getting calls from the & I am not now nor have I ever been an Optus customer.

Calling me too. Silence on the other end other than a background murmur/Call Centre chatter. Simply set your mobile (in the settings menu) to reject incoming calls from this number and it will bounce their calls in future.

They have called me every day for the last week and been ignored. No voice mail message = no call-back
