I am often getting missed calls from this number. Sometimes it only rings for a short period, or hangs up as soon as I answer. I am sure it is a scam by Optus to try to get you to call the number back (thinking it may be important), only to charge you premium for the call from your mobile. I have previously told Optus to make a note on my file to stop calling me, to no avail.

I am with Optus & got a missed call from (02) 8956 0269! A few day's later they've called again, just to hung up when I've answered lol Will try to BLACKLIST the number in my mobile somehow =)

This number calls me every day on my mobile, and has done for 2 weeks. Sometimes they try twice a day. I am an Optus customer. My phone and my husbands are both in his name, yet Optus never call his mobile? They always call when I am at work or at meal times.

Call 133937 Optus and ask to opt out of all marketing calls, faxes, emails, txt, mms, mail and door to door and yes ask to opt out of all

I'm with Optus, just received a call from this number. Lady (with strong foreign American accent)said I was being rewarded because I have been with Optus Prepaid for so long and they want to give me something as a token of their appreciation for my loyalty. Then she asked how long I have been with Optus Prepaid- wouldn't they have this info if I am being "rewarded" for being with them so long. Seemed really strange. I got off the phone before giving any details.

I too am getting a call from this number once a day now. I've stopped answering it so we'll see what happens. Very annoying.

I've gotten a couple of calls from this number now, I saved it so I know not to pick up. Next time I think I will answer and give them false information just to see if it is Optus and how legit the operation is. Will report back when I have more info.

this number range three time from yesterday, missed two calls yesterday. just 3 minutes ago the caller said "she is checking on the optus services on my mobile phone", I told her that the service is fine with me. she asked my DOB, then I said "why are you calling and should I give you my DOB", she said for the security reasons??? I said: I refused to give out my DOB to you for security reasons & do not call me again.

Received a missed call from this number & called back to hear a recorded message saying it was Virgin mobile calling to see if I was happy with the new service I have recently connected to with them & to call their customer service dept on 1300 555 100... I am with Optus and have never signed up with Virgin!!

Rang this number back and seemed like it was Optus themselves.(Got a recorded message).I am on an unlimited plan so they can't do any better than the monthly cost. Next time I will answer it to see what they are on about if it is them. I do notice all the posters here are on the Optus network.

I have been getting calls from this number for nearly two weeks - every time I answer it hangs up immediately. Thinking perhaps going to cops about it. They must be able to do something.

I've been getting phone call from this number everyday and it ain't Optus, they say their with true energy.. I'm getting sick of this... Next phone call I'm a let it rip!!!

I'm with Optus, has to be scammers as have my number listed on the DO NOT CALL register, with that said, Optus would not call me with marketing calls..... or would they, hmmmmm........

I am getting multiple calls from this number every day but it doesn't ever ring more than once so it always shows as a missed call and when I call it back it doesn't ring it is just a dead line. I am sick of getting missed call messages all the time. I am with optus.

I just received a call from this number the man on the phone said his name was Mark Vinvent and we was calling me to make sure i was up to date about the latest Optus Offers. He then asked for my date of birth to confirm it was me. Something didnt feel right about this as HE called ME! I said i wasnt comfortable with this and that i would like him to give me some information about my account to confirm that I knew the call was genuine, he did quite well managing around this question by telling me he could give me his Optus employee ID number etc etc. I told him i was not comfortable with this and that they could post or email me any special offers. He kept trying and then finished off with a generic question about how i feel with my service. I said it was great and then hung up! Be careful these guys are experts and dealing with cautious people!
