Caller: Unknown caller 2023 and they are still trying to call... thankfully, my Android phone recognised it as a likely scam number and it's now blacklisted on my phone. Oh well...

If this really is a legitimate company (Engine) then they should respect the ACMA Do Not Call register. There needs to be tougher penalties for companies who blatantly cold call mobile numbers (particularly those on the DNC).

these companies use random phone number generators to decide who to call, thats how they got yours. also, as it's a survey company (not a charity or salesperson) the do not call list does not apply to them, the only way to get off the company's list is to answer the call and ask them to take you off it

Caller: SCAM They've called twice now (1 week apart), late at night and did not leave a message.
I have seen from other call recipients that they've claimed to be both a Tourism Research service and the ATO.
Marketing companies are not allowed to call during graveyard hours, and a Tourism company should not be calling in the middle of a global pandemic. As for the ATO, all numbers used by Services Australia Departments are automatically self-ID'd, and again, do not call during graveyard hours.
The fact that they've claimed to be at least two different entities would suggest that they are phishing for information.
Do not answer calls from this number, and block if possible.

Claims to be Engine. Short travel survey. Then asks personal questions re postcode, suburb, phone service carrier - no idea why this is needed for a travel survey, age group, how many people live here and total income for family etc. Seems to be a fishing exercise.

Tourism Research Australia is a branch within Austrade. They are Australia's leading provider of quality tourism intelligence across both international and domestic markets.
Apparently, it is legal in Australia for them to be able to call us: https://www.tra.gov.au/survey/survey
Website says.....
"Participating in our National Visitor Survey Tourism Research Australia contract Big Village to contact 120,000 Australian residents each year aged 15 years and over on their mobile phone to participate in our National Visitor Survey.
How did you get my number? A computer randomly chose your mobile phone number through a process called Random Digit Dialling.
Who will ring me? Staff members of Big Village conduct our phone surveys. Big Village is a member of the Australian Data and Insights Association (ADIA) and as such, staff abide by The Research Society (TRS) Code of Professional Behaviour.
Even if you are on the "Do not call" register or have a silent number, Big Village are still legally able to call you, as they are conducting market research – not selling a product."

Caller: This number I’ve downloaded an app to help my unknown numbers it states for me top spammer travel survey. However why they don’t understand that getting random people means that the number of people won’t answer, i recieved a message beforehand that they be trying to ring about a survey for a government agency but didn’t ask if was interested or not about being apart of one, they then begun ringing the next day while I was working then today at a later time, still I’m not answering cause I’m not interested in a server from anyone I don’t even know or anything I don’t pre know and agree to even do

From what people are saying, it is a number from Tourism Research Australia to interview 120,000 Australian residents each year to participate in the National Visitor Survey. But it doesn't matter that people are claiming it is not a scam or whatever, the mere fact that they get a hold of private numbers and make unsolicited calls amounts to privacy invasion. It's no better than annoying telemarketers.
