Caller: Engine They are a survey company, when they rang me they were representing tourism Australia. I answered the questions, which weren't personal in nature, and gave plenty of opportunity to not answer if not comfortable. These people have a job to do. Not exactly a scam.......

If they are a genuine survey company, why don’t they leave a message identifying themselves when the call is unanswered?? They are persistent. I’ve been called about 5 times in a week.

Really? These people are not a problem? If they are legitimate, then they should leave a message and explain why they are calling. Incredibly rude. I don't know who the hell they are but they phoned me after 8pm of a week night. I do NOT want people calling me. And how did they get my number? WT...

Caller: Not known Called at 16:10 hrs on Sunday afternoon. Did not answer and no message left. Obviously not a legit business communication. 'Do Not Call' register is more like a list of 'call these suckers'.

If I don’t recognize the number, I don’t answer, it goes to voice mail. If they don’t leave message then it wasn’t important to them either. Now the number is blocked. What happened to the DO NOT CALL REGISTER !!

Caller: Big Village - representing the Tourism Australia Survey Advised the number they used was at random.. apparently, they don't have our address / phone number etc. They did ask questions like what my age was, how long I have been a citizen in Australia and my town / suburb of residence. The call was instantly cut when I refused to advise where I live as it was starting to feel a bit like an initial stages of social engineering process (I get they need to see how far people have travelled, but if they're working on behalf of the government and don't have details it just felt too suspicious for me). Also didn't appreciate someone just hanging up when I was trying to be nice about it, but whatever.

Caller: Engine Market research company - on behalf on Tourism Australia. Legit call. See Tourism Australia website for info: https://www.tra.gov.au/Survey/survey
It's random selection and your called by computer. No point in leaving you a message as they need to speak to you in person and you can't call them back to take part - that wouldn't be random selection ;) If you don't answer, the computer just moves onto next random number.

Call and hang up, do not leave a message. Checked the number on line and found its a survey company that wants your personal information and about your ifestyle. Block this number, cold calling is intrusive and unwelcome
