I missed a call from (02) 8912 5631, when I called back I reached voicemail for Engine

This number is from Engine, who are contracted by Tourism Research Australia to interview 120,000 Australian residents each year to participate in the <a href="https://www.tra.gov.au/domestic/domestic-tourism-results">National Visitor Survey</a>.

This survey helps to strengthen the tourism industry, the overall economy and ultimately create jobs. <u>Engine</u> is a member of the <u>Association of Market and Social Research Organisations</u> (AMSRO) and as such, abide by The Research Society’s <u>Code of Professional Behaviour</u>.

Caller: Potential scammer

Caller said they were doing some research on sports for some unknowncompany. Asked me for personal details straight away. Told them to f*ck off as soon as he asked that.

This is not a govt agency, this is a scam group. After asking me a bunch of questions about possible travel habits, they started the scare tactics (are you aware that if you travel in this time without insurance you can get caught out, would you agree?) Classic scam artists.

I wasted as much of their time as possible then hung up.

Fraud.

Yes I received a call from this number it was legitimate and someone from Tourism Research Australia. They were wanting to know about any overseas/interstate travel I have undertaken in the last 3 months.

tried ringing me 4 time so far comes up as fraudulent number according to security program i have installed. pity phone still rings and then cuts out

Called twice in two days, once after 7.30pm. Didn’t answer but read this and appears to be spam or “government research”

This number has called me every day for a week straight now, no voicemails left and always calling at an odd time. Very Dodgy business so I blocked them

Rang me at 8:00pm on a Wednesday night. Didn't pick up as was already on a call.
No voicemail was left. Guessing it was a telemarketer/spam call. Intstant block.

They said they call on behalf of the Australian Government, however, its number starts on 02-8XXX, which is an NSW number not an ACT one

"Engine" conducting market research for Tourism Research Australia (Government body). Just questions about any travel you have done recently and a few demographic questions. Not a scam. Look up the survey (NATIONAL VISITOR SURVEY). You can request to be added to their do-not-call register and Engine won't call you again.

this number calls me every second day, always late afternoon. it’s getting ridiculous

received call re travelling not sure how they have my number as it is unlisted

Called three times 19, 21 & 22 May. My phone identified it as FRAUDULENT calls. Number BLOCKED.
