Keep getting calls from this number - usually at bad times for me to answer so I don't. A woma usually leaves a message asking me to call her back asap. Today a different woman left a message: "Bec from Homebush" needed me to call her back. Unsolicited calls are annoying and not welcome on my phone but I was curious as to why this number was calling so often!

Caller say he is from optus. As soon as I ask for his detail, he hanged up. Highly suspicious and that this is scam

I just received a call from this number (02) 8893 0800). I found the call to be quite odd because as soon as I answered, he asked if I was my father. I advised him no, this is my number but I am an authorised name on the account. I asked where he was calling from to which he started reading out all the other numbers on the account. I asked him again where he was calling from. Once again he ignored the question. I advised him that my father didn't speak English and I am an authorised member on the account to which his response was "if he doesn't speak English then why is he the holder of the account". Furious, I advised him that I was terminating the call to which he asked "why are you getting upset". I asked him "why are you calling?" he stated "I am calling because your Optus phones are eligible for an upgrade". I advised him that I was not interested and terminating the call. It was obviously a call from overseas as when I picked up, there was a lag in signal and also you could hear other people talking in the background.

Pretty much similar to other experience above (call and hang up). A quick search on caller id lead to a telemarket company Gigaforce (check their contact us page!)

This number keeps calling and hanging up on me, (02) 8893 0800. Are they doing this so we have to call them back and we get charged for the call? This is happening a lot.

I just received a call from this number. They hung up after I answered.

When I called back I got a recorded voice message saying I have called Gigaforce representing optus.

Not sure why they would hang up after I answered unless they were dodgy.

Caller ID showed no number but the woman claimed to be from nab offering wireless EFTPOS terminals. When I asked for her number, she gave this number (02) 8893 0800). It's a telemarketing company called Gigaforce. I suggest you call one of their offices nearby and return the favour!!  :-)
