Caller: SMSF They asked to speak to me but had my gender wrong. Said they’re from SMSF - self managed super fund. When I ask how they got my number they hung up. Same call centre had called day before from a different number.

Call went to voicemail, but message has only silence. Probably a call centre with dial-ahead - the automated system calls a number, and if it detects a voice signal, allocates the call to an operator. But if no operator is free to take the call right then, there is silence and the system hangs up.

Called me multiple times over last couple of days, when I called back the first time had a Telstra voice message saying the number was not connected. Got a missed call while at work from same disconnected number. ? Ghost number from scammers

Of course Telco's won't stop these callers when they're getting paid for the porting use of these numbers.

Caller: SMSF The usual scam call. Asked for me by name and when I asked what they wanted I got some mumbled blurb about her being from smsf and superannuation. I gave her permission to go forth and multiply and hung up. Blocked the number. It begs the question as to why numbers identified as originating from Sydney are made available to crooks for the purpose of fraud

SMSF wanted to look at my super for me for free and see if they could improve it for me . Yeah right my own super company does quite well for me ,why would I let anyone just look into my super. The caller was a male ,maybe from Sri Lanka ,Pakistan etc . Told him to go and f himself and F off before he hung up on me . How rude lol . Why are Telstra allowing this phone number to be active with so many scam complaints ? Bloody disgusting.

Didnt recognise number so let it go to voicemail - and what a surprise, no message was left. They've tried me again today (first call was 2 days prior). Tried calling them back - "Optus advises the number you are calling has been disconnected". Why cant these companies be fined for hassling us individuals ? So sick of these calls.... :(

Answered their call but immediately discounted. If they were legitimate it would be unlikely the call would be disconnected in such a way. Just plain annoying.

Scammers - idiots do not realise if they have a voicemail, cannot get gender correct when leaving a message. Struggling to understand how our Telcos cannot block these numbers .. do they ever look at sites like these and get busy? I suspect not.
