fake vehicle accident from company claiming to be MVA

Had the number (02) 8880 5602 call me asking about an accident I was involved in. Saying they were a motor vehicle accident company and I could be entitled to $1000 to $20000. Caller was a female and had a UK accent.

Just got call from this number didn't say where there were from, mumbled about a about motor vehicle accident! DONT keep talking to them as they are trying to get voice imprint from you! As the ATO and agencies are now using this technology to verify you. If they get this imprint and enough detail they will get your details changed on the system and any refunds you may get will go into a redirected bank account! SCAM SCAM SCAM

Called me today.
No one spoke !
Will I call them back or is it one of those calls that go back to UK and you pay the costs ?

I just had this call. Have answered a couple of questions and noticed something wrong about this so asked who are you ?? then he just hung up the phone.

Why no one do anything?
Anywhere we can report this?

Had a missed call from this number this arvo. Didnt answer and glad i didnt.

Fraudulent female caller saying she was calling in relation to a recent (false) accident.
Told her to **f??ck off**

Had a call from this number on my mobile - hung up when I answered. I've registered our mobiles and landline with Do Not Call Register yet I'm still getting these calls .... so annoying ... (number now blocked on my phone)

Call from this number saying I had reported a MVA. Told her (UK accent) her company needs to sack the assessors, who were obviously working on a commission basis, reporting false claims...

Husband just received a call from this number claiming to be following up on an MVA. When my husband asked where was the accident the male caller with UK accent advised his name would be wiped from the record

Cold call about the accident I reported - told them I didn't report an accident and they hung up. bloke with english accent, sound of typewriter in background (who uses typewriters these days?)

English accent male phoned said I had had a car accident told him I don't own a car he hung up scam

Had the same experience tried ringing back it just hangs up...3 to 4 calls a day.....set phone to private call 3 to 4 times a day and hang up if nothing else this will clog up their line at same time add to block calls ....DONE

I'm getting 5 to 10 calls a month, couple of times I've answered and they just hang up

Had a call just now about an accident I was supposed to have in the last 6 months UK accent male. This is the second time I've had this call so I played along and said oh the one where the other guy died. He said I hope a car backs over you and you die and hung up. Strange I thought he was going to offer me big bucks?

They rang me up today on my mobile about a crash I was supposed to have had in the last 6 months. I had a similar call on my home phone about a month ago but in that case they didn't know my name and it was regarding a crash in the last 2 years. in both cases I told them I thought they were not legit and hung up. I haven't had a crash for years.

Answered the call. Sounded like a TV in the background then a man laughing before he hung up. Creepy af

Guy called reckons hes from SYDNEY AND A motor vehicle accident company and ringing up for a 1/3 party company, To see if I was happy with their service and looked after okay OK. I told him i havent had an accident in years and hes full of sh*t. i asked which 1/3 party company he said suncorp. i told him i or anyone else ive dealt with have nothing to do with suncorp and stop wasting my time with crap phone calls.

Don't care if this is a fake company posing as a Motor Accident Company, because the next time they ring I will be lettin them know i will be takin legal action & I will be also contactin scamwatch.gov.au to notify them of a fake company who are scaming people & if nothin is done after contacting scamwatch, I will be notifying the Australian Federal Police to hopefully have them jnvestigated

Just had a call and was prepared after looking up this site. I too had a woman with an English accent and claimed to be from the Motor Vehicle Bureau about an accident I'd had in the last 12 months. When I asked her what the purpose of her call was she said it was to provide feedback to the insurance company on how satisfied I was with the service, so I asked which insurance company? She said she didn't have that information, so when I asked her the date of said accident she repeated that it was in the last 12 months. So when I said that in Australia we didn't have a motor vehicle "Bureau" and that I hadn't had an accident so what did she really want she hung up on me!!!
