They rang my home phone claiming to be tax office and threating jail asset seizure etc. I rang them back and they still answered claiming to be ATO.

I shared my thoughts with them.

Accented female voice, sounded Indian, VERY aggressive tone, re 'ATO tax fraud, you will be arrested, your assets will be seized, I will send the police, blah blah, ring this number (02) 8880 0212. '. Same scam doing the rounds again.

Sounded like it was pre-recorded, foreign accent, Jason O'Connor from the ATO saying the police will be round and assets will be seized if I don't call them back etc etc... dreadful if you are elderly and receive calls like this!

I received 2 calls from (02) 8880 0212 last night saying it was the ATO, tried to call the number and it said the number did not exist. very irate Indian sounding lady telling me my bank accounts and assets were going to be frozen and police would come to arrest me if I didn't call back.

received a message re tax fraud, freezing assets etc from accented rehearsed lady, did not say where she was from or who the message was for. Immediately thought it was a scam

I have a silent number and am also on the do no call register and received 2 calls in 1 day from these people I was not home on either occassion so they left me a message both times. Knew something wasn't right straight away. I have contacted the police, the telecommunications ombudsman, scamwatch and my telco provider to report and to get action. Don't ring it back just right down the information and do the same as me. Don't get sucked in by all means ring the ATO if you want piece of mind.

Just recieved second call from this number. Scammers. Threatening tone of voice. If I get another I will be calling police.

This is supposed to be the ATO warning of prosecution if we don't call back. I rang back to see what was going on to find myself speaking to Officer Sean/Shorn. Be careful.

This person with a female Phillipino accent said that ATO had raised a law suit against me and if I didn't respond to the call they would forward details to the police who would freeze my assets.

I'm referring the call to the police.
