Caller: Said her name was Stephanie

Phoned my mobile - located my number from a database - was looking for someone who allegedly lives in my street. Asked me to write a note to this person and drop it in their mailbox with a message to phone Stephanie. Would not identify the organisation she worked for - due to privacy reasons. Stephanie sent an SMS from mobile number 0455 054 959 with the number (02) 8836 4329. I phoned the landline and Stephanie answered - again no organisation identified.

Did not and would not assist. Breach of privacy.

Just had a call from a hidden number on my mobile. The person said my name and asked if I knew "xxx xxxxx". Stupidly I said yes. I got sucked in by this lady sounding very anglo saxon Australian and with a very mature, educated voice. Not someone that sounds like a scammer which are generally from a foreign country. As it was a common name she mentioned, she then went on to say she needed to confirm if the person was between X and Y years of age and that their partner was "yyyyy". I told them I wouldn't confirm anything else due to privacy. She wouldn't say who she was or where she was from but said she would text me a message to pass on. Somehow she knew my mobile number and so was able to text it to me.

The text specifically wrote my name in it and asked me to contact the person "xxx xxxxx" and asked for them to contact "Erica on (02) 8836 4314". The mobile number the text came from was 0419 801 254. Interesting she couldn't tell me her name on the phone but could in the text.

Agree with others above. Feel it is either a debt collector or scammer phishing for info. I won't be passing on any info.

Harassed my workplace and friends. Refused to ID herself - used mobile number 04155054896

Called on 0480 039 420 asking me to get in contact with someone in street and sent me a text message from 0488 826 342 asking if i could pass a message on for the person to contact Harley on (02) 8836 4389. Total jerk - would not tell me where he was calling from but wanted to know if i knew the person etc etc
Gave him a bum steer - no way was i helping him out!

Phoned my mobile and said they were looking to get in touch with someone who allegedly lives in my street and asked if i could pass a message on. He refused to provide where he was calling from due to the matter with the person being sensitive. When asked if he was from the AFP or similar he said he wasn't from a government firm. He assured me he only had the best in mind for the person to which i challenged how i could know that! I said i would report him and he said he'd prefer if i didn't. He sent me a text asking if i can let the person know to contact Harley on (02) 8836 4389 as soon as possible.

I can't help him if i don't know the person but i wouldn't help him on principle anyway! Total breach of privacy. How did he get my mobile number....

He told me to contact my business neighbor And I Said I will charge $99 for that and he hanged up upon on me cheap guy and time waster

Someone who identified themselves as Mary asked if I knew a particular person. I asked where she was calling from and she would not disclose on the basis that she needed that person's authority to disclose. I asked her what it was about and she also refused to disclose. She asked me if I speak to the identified person often - I would not answer on the basis the call was very suspicious. I then asked again where she was from and she gave me the phone number (02) 8836 4389 but wouldn't tell me anything further. She wanted to know if I would pass on the message to call her. I said I couldn't confirm anything. TREAT AS SCAM.

Called my number from google search and asked me if I knew neighbour from down the street. Said no and he asked me to drop note in her letterbox asking her to call Daniel Stevens on (02) 8836 4329. Wouldn't say where he was calling from and private number.

Rang using a blocked number. Said he was handling personal details for someone I know. wouldn't say where he was from. He gave me a number (02) 8836 4329 insisted he was dealing with a personal matter. A possible scam?

Caller: Stephanie

A Stephanie called from a "No Caller ID" number. She called my mobile looking for my husband so she could ask him where is cousin is and if he could pass on a message. Given my husband doesn't speak much with his cousin this was very odd to me. when I queried her and how she got my number she started to advise she would call other members of the family. I told her not to and so I took down her number and said I would pass it one. She seems as though she is a debt collector (which seems extremely odd considering the cousin isn't one to not pay her accounts) or a scammer.

Same here....a Stephanie. Would not identify the company she was calling on behalf of

(02) 8836 4329 called requesting personal information to say theres a ridiculous amount of sky credit card debt.

Rang using blocked caller ID asking for my son’s phone number as she needed to talk to him urgently about a private matter. Then sent me a text message from 0455 301 874 including her name and land line number (02) 8836 4329. Knew my son’s and my first name but we both have no idea who she is or how she got our details.
Checked the mobile number but no records which I will now add as possible spam.
