When is the RFS going to learn that when I say I cant afford to donate, I mean it. Harassing phone calls with clever "make guilty" tactics just upset me and probably many others. Perhaps they could ask the government how come they cant be properly financed as a vital community service, when so much money is given away for ridiculous projects, comical grants and self serving purposes all the time while genuine SMALL business is milked to the bone. The basic problem is always GOVERNMENT STUPIDITY and INCOMPETENCE.

While NSW Rural Fire Services staff serve the community well, the constant phone call for fund collection is becoming a pain on the backside. There is only so much people can give in a year. The telephone number (02) 8823 3018 belongs to a company called Call Centres Australia [Address: 241 Commonwealth St, Surry Hills NSW 2010; Phone:1800 377 000] which is contracted by NSW RFSA to undertake fund collection drive for the Association. This activity has no mandated support from the NSW Fire Services which is a State government organisation. Contact Centres Australia "hassles" people who are on their database for donations. After getting bugged for over a year, I contacted Contact Centres Australia and instructed them to take my number off their database. Also, informed the staff that should I get another call from them on behalf of RFSA or any other body, I would in a flash lodge an official complaint to the Telecommunication Industry Ombudsman [Tel: 1800 062 058]. Hope this helps other who are in similar predicament.

This is not true at all they are not the RFS they are the NSW RFS Association the RFS only recieves a small % of the money raised Know your facts ALAN!

Another useless Telemarketer for a Charities, if there spending all this money to use crap companies like this to do their dirty work it makes you think just how much money is actually going to the charity they are helping, its worth a thought don`t you think

Persistent, told them no two days ago and they have rung again today. I donate to to RFS fundraisers all the time but i will not give my credit card details to anyone ringing me on the phone.

We have had about 20 calls in the past 18 months for a Dianne, and I have mentioned EVERY time that Dianne is not at this number, we are a business, and have politely asked every time to take our number off their calling list. I don't even know why I keep answering...

I've requested to have my name removed from the RFSA list before. My guess is that every now and then when they switch to new call centres/contractors they just lose all the updates and give the new contractor their master list which never gets updated by deletions only by additions.

I made a one-off donation a few years ago. NSWRFS do a great job. However, the constant harassing I've had ever since borders on disgraceful. I called RFS head office to complain about their practices, but was told "we outsource such activities so it's got nothing to do with us". Oh really? You're fooling no one. Blacklisted, call blocked, not a penny more from this guy.

Missed a call. I'm on the Do Not Call Register and have a silent number. Made a complaint to the Do Not Call Register. If you get an unsolicited call, I suggest you do the same. Stop this assault on our private and peaceful times.

Legitimate fundraising for New South Wales Rural Fire Service. Don't knock it; it might be your (or a friend's) house (or life) they save! If you don't like their fundraising, then lobby the government to properly fund them.
