Caller: AGL just paid a $ 750 bill which i spoke to them for hours and got it reduced abit, which i thought was good of them until yesterday, i had an electrician at my house ready to disconnect my electricity ... lucky he knocked and let me know what was happening... i showed him the paid bill , lucky he was decent and im still getting calls today asking for it .... how dumb can a multi billion dollar company make so many mistakes ? ill be looking elsewhere

They do leave a recorded message on occasion but it is a scam. My phone is a work phone with a silent number and been registered for several years to me. The 'person' the message claims to be looking for does not exist. Block the number.

I received two calls from this number today but no vm - oddly received a text from AGL - I never answer a call if I don't know who it is, ONE TEXT is sufficient These are stressful times - if I have regularly paid over 20 years - I suspect I can pay the measly $140 ...Ridiculous!

My 91 year old mother received a call on her mobile from these criminals and gave them her date of birth information before realising it was a scam when they asked for money. These scammers had the bill total in dollars and cents, and knew my mother's year of birth. This is the only reason she gave them her birth date and birth month information when asked to. After the call we rang AGL and was told that among other things, that they did not have my mother's mobile number on record, so there was no way it could have been AGL. Also, the AGL rep said that AGL don't ask for personal information like date of birth, as the name on the account and the associated contact number is enough to authenticate a customer. After informing the rep that the scammer knew my mother's personal information and payment amounts down to the cent, she asked for the time of the call and their phone number for an incident report she would be escalating. If you receive a call from this number hang up, and if you're worried about the content of the call, ring AGL directly and discuss the matter directly with them.
These scammers are bad people that need to be stopped, so please report what you can, as often as you can.
Also, if you get a scam call from someone claiming to be from AGL, who's got your personal information and billing details, please complain to AGL, cause if they've got a data leak, they need to fix it.

Caller: AGL It is Saturday and I don't take calls unless I know who it is. No VM - no speak. I am overdue on a very small bill - the last bill I received was over $1400! It was a guestimate and given my bills are around $250, I was furious. So I contacted the Ombudsman - AGL reversed that bill - always check your bill.

Caller: Agl These people are scammers but they are also employed by agl as a third party call centre, they work on an incentive, agl provides your information to them and if they can get you to pay some money they will get paid an incentive, plausible deniability for agl. AGL used to deny association until I put the water and energy ombudsman on them also report them to scam watch, agl has no legal right to call harass and threaten customers that’s why they pay third party ,scammers to harass you I urge every one ,screen shot and record these calls and report them to scam watch and the water and energy ombudsman and watch how quick agl weasels and squirms their way out of it, they will immediately stop the scammers from calling for a time. They will then change numbers and start again, even if you are late with a bill agl cannot legally harass you that’s why they pay 3 party scammers to harass you for them.

The number showed up as Bankstown or similar on my phone. It's a recorded message claiming to be from AGL, saying you owe money - which I don't. Just block the number. AGL should be more careful of who they get to do their dirty business. It's probably a scam run by AGL call centre. Not surprised at all. Thankyou Mr Albanese for all those dishonest blow ins.
