"National Broadband Network. We have been trying to get in touch with you. However, we are going to disconnect your landline and internet connection within 24 hours as the NBN services are now available in your locality. So, for uninterrupted service please press 1 to connected to the technician."
How do I know it is a scam? I have been on the NBN for years and they don't address me by my name. All communications related to NBN go through my retailer (Telstra/optus/vodafone/etc.) and as I didn't actually answer the phone, the scam was trying to prompt my answering machine for input. Which no doubt they would have then tried to get personal details from me. If they are who they claim they are, they already have my details and wouldn't need to call.
If you have the capability to do so I would suggest blocking this number.
