Hi guys. I've been having the same problems with this number over the last few days, and it looks like it's a scam afterall. When you call back the number, it goes through to the "optus wishes to advise this number is disconnected", but the funny thing is, it's not the actual disconnected-number message. It's going through to a messaging service which PLAYS the message, and, you're being charged for it.
I haven't checked my bill yet, but every now and then this sort of thing happens. The "disconnected" number you call back is actually a sort of hotline which someone has set up, and for all we know, they could be charging you ten bucks a minute to call it, where the disconnected-or-otherwise number is a recording on an answering machine. Someone somewhere sets up a system to automatically dial every number from, say 0400 000 000 to 0499 999 999 and hang up after it's answered, or play a similar recorded message, a vodaphone survey in this case.
Good chance it's not Vodaphone, and the two seconds you spent on the phone when you've called the number back have cost you a few dollars. (02) 8666 6630 is a fake sort-of-network-ID or caller ID. It's funny to explain, but the number doesn't actually exist on the network, and never has.

Yeah got two calls. all i tried to call vodafone for was to top up my credit. really dont like vodafone as it is without this rubbish, their coverage is useless. i have 2 phones, one optus one vodafone... vodafone wont have any service in some areas while optus has full service. get your act together
