Received call from a woman who knew my name claiming to be from HSBC. Asking to verify my year of birth. When I asked what it was about she said she couldn't discuss the matter further until I verified my year of birth. Clearly a scam. I gave her no information. I said I was happy to divulge that information if I rang HSBC directly and could she tell me what number to call. I could hear her typing and she quoted an HSBC 1300 number which any idiot could have looked up on Google.

Caller: Scam Claims to be from HSBC and knows my full name. Wants me to tell her my DOB "for verification purposes" before she can continue the call. Told her to email me with anything that HSBC wants to tell me. Later called HSBC and they said the call was not from them - they keep a note of all contact with customers and there was nothing on file and they had no reason to call. Obviously a scam call.

Received the same call as others today. Woman claiming she was from HSBC and wanting personal details. When challenged, she couldn't provide a reason as to why she was calling. Scam.

I can see that some people have had the same problem. They say they are from HSBC but when you contact HSBC via alternative known means they respond with a no they did not contact me. I don't answer this number or give my details out to them. Scam?

Caller: Someone claiming to be from HSBC, but instead is a criminal A lady claiming to be from HSBC, did not introduce herself by her name. Before asking to proceed with the call she wanted to verify my DOB first. She has a Filipino accent. She has called me 3 times now and the last time I said she had called the wrong person and she seemed confused as she was sure she had the right number and name. Beware!!!
I verified with HSBC and the confirmed as a matter of fact that nobody from HSBC had called me and this number is NOT from HSBC. HSBC also confirmed that they have had no data breeches in the last 5 years in Australia.

Caller: Spam Caller claiming to be from HSBC This number is NOT from HSBC. I have verified this personally with HSBC Australia.
This is my third call from them, and has been a lady with a Filipino accent. She only introduces herself as calling from HSBC, but does not give her name. She is persistent. She called me today and I told her she has the wrong number. Hopefully she will stop trying.

Highly suspected call, who claimed they call from HSBC but refused provide any details of the purpose of the call or even a reference number unless I "verify" my personal details. Hung up and call HSBC official number instead, no record has been found in HSBC system.
