Received a call from a lady who stated my full name and asked me to confirm my identify. I refused to answer, asked who I was speaking with and was advised a representative from HSBC. I asked the reason for the call and the caller responded that they couldn't advise until I verified the call. I hung up and called HSBC who confirmed no calls were made. I reported the number with HSBC.

Caller: "HSBC: fake" - Marissa and then Leo - Philippines based Claims to be from HSBC, automated calls every day at the same time around 8:15 am for 4 weeks. Finally, I called back on their number and it sounds like the authenticate website with same Australian voice but does not have the selection options - press 1 or 2 etc. Easy to be fooled. They have your name and phone number and try to get your date of birth and account information. . I asked them to confirm my email and home aadress and they wouldnt do that unless they "verified the account". I called again and asked to have my number removed. "Sarah" said she can't find how to do that but when they call again ask the caller to remove the number! I will wait and see if it works. Meanwhile I blocked the number.!

Caller: (02) 8661 1904 This number appears as HSBC in my phone, but it's a scam. I called the legit HSBC number and they confirmed that no one from the bank tried to call me. The problem is that the number *does* appear under the HSBC telephone list, under "collections and hardships", so somehow the scammers manage to take control of that number and make it look genuine.

Caller: 'HSBC Collections" - a Debt Collection Company used by HSBC BANK HSBC Bank uses this company for overdrawn accounts, Visa and Mortgage overdue payments. Do not give them any personal information. They will not identify the purpose of the call without your giving them your DOB and account number. Log on to the HSBC Bank website and check for any overdue/overdrawn accounts. HSBC Bank will send a letter to account holder if debts are owing but does not directly call account holders or email them. HSBC Collections will call daily on their automated computer system if they have received debt information from the HSBC Bank.

Caller: Scammers They're scammers. They must have access to HSBC clients details somehow. They called my number then called my husband's number. Asked to verify account number and personal details. My husband asked them why they're calling and they said they couldn't say until he verified. When they called the next day he gave them fake details and the caught on and hung up. Have contacted HSBC and let them know of this number, they've said they would never call and that they'd either email or SMS.
