Caller: Scammers claiming to be Microsoft Support This number appeared on my screen with a message saying my computer had been blocked as there was a security threat. A loud alarm accompanied the message. Do not call this number, it is a scam - people claiming to be Microsoft Support to assist you to unblock and secure your computer.

They stated their names are Chris or Christine, at least on that day. On the first call, as soon as I started asking who they were, where their offices were the girl hung up.
I called back a second time, my computer was blurting out a recorded message of something like "my computer had been compromised, therefore the use of your computer had been blocked"... so the script they had written into the webpage I'd been sent to had the (02) 8660 1350 number on with some Microsoft windows labels.
A total, total scam... they'll do their best to get you to go to a pc sharing website - pcsupport.space - don't do it... you'll be giving them access to your files. They'll copy and grab everything they can.
Delete google chrome if you want to put a spanner in their works... that's the platform they're doing most of their damage through as they insisted I re - install it after I had deleted it previously that day.

Received on computer from a web site - not from a phone call. Scammer using computerised voice claims to be from Microsoft/Windows. Ignore it and turn your computer off. This worked for my father and my father hasn't called me back about it after restarting his computer. Problem gone. He also uses both Microsoft Defender and Malwarebytes in tandem, so it appears to just be a recording and nothing more. This allows it to avoid anti-malware programs.
