Wouldn't give any details, looking via social media for friend or family member of someone I know - wouldn't tell me where he was from or give his number over the phone - advised it's in relation to a business matter and that the person he is trying to contact would know what it is about. Told me he has access to confidential databases and that's how he got my number. He sent me a text from 0406 452 928 (Credit Corp) to call back on (02) 8651 5058.

Caller: Maria Gallardo

It is a debt collector company based in North West Sydney. They look at the social media platform of the person they are looking for in an attempt to call the friends of the intended person. A clear violation of Privacy Act 1991 (Cth) as these friends never give consent to such company to contact them.

Terrible human being who uses threats and intimidation to try to make people pay him money.
Lowest of the low.
Breaks a number of credit laws by chasing people through their social media.
Will call all hours of the day and night.

I showed Credit Corp months ago my receipts proving my debt was paid. They didn't dispute this but still harassed me with emails and phone calls anyway as well as made threats of a financial nature. I determined they were scammers and made clear if they want to dispute the payments I made, then take it up with the banks or BPay. I don't believe they could win any court case and are bluffing as a way to get me to give them money I do not owe them.

I did not answer the phone call so I dont Know who it is.

This company has called my workplace on 2 occasions. Won't give me any details until I provide ALL of mine. They called my elderly mother at home ( she is 85 years old) and asked where I worked, so she gave them the details of my employer, then they wanted to call her back. So inappropriate. So I know nothing else. Obviously something not quite right here???

I called back number (02) 8651 5058 spoke to a guy who did not say for what company until he verifies who I am.
