Caller: Commbank

I made an online enquiry about changing one of my home loans yesterday...and this was them following up on the enquiry. Its legit!

Caller: CBA

Seems legit. Called back and was an onshore rep. Professional and advised why they may have called: either ongoing application or review of your "banking needs". Probs just CBA trying to upsell

If it is CBA I do not have account with them. How did they get my details?

Just now got a phone call from (02) 8629 4000 and answered said hello ...hello...cant hear you and there was no one on other end of phone ?? Got no idea who it was ?

This is legitimate. I applied for a loan at another bank which means closing down my Commbank account. This caller was from the "retention team" who wanted to stop me from leaving.

The automatic voice said it was going to check my account using the phone number associated with it and then immediately said it couldn't find it, asking me to enter the phone number which I received a message from. Well, I didn't receive any message from them. I think this is suspicious.

Received a call from them at 0900hrs. Didn't answer, no message left.

Caller: Commonwealth Bank

Spend 0.5h to call 132221 to find out and they are legit

This number has called me quite a few times always around 6.30pm. I don’t answer and they never leave a message... if it was CBA surely they would leave a message?

Caller: Sashi (unless i am mistaken)

Asked to speak to me regarding my account. I refused to give my details over the phone. They offered to send me a message via netbank. I queried if i could discuss whatever it is at my local branch- she informed that i could and mention that i got a call from Sashi (?) from Sydney call centre. Sounds legit, but who can blame anyone to be suspicious of such calls anymore>

Completed an online form to find our how much I could expect to borrow for a home loan 2 days ago with Commbank. Didn't pick up the call, but reading the comments here would expect it is a legit follow up regarding my use of their online calculator.

Caller: Possibly ComBank

They called me wanted to discuss account details. Asked for Name, DOB to confirm identity. I decided not to give over the phone as they called me. Lady said to call or go into my branch and they should know what they want to discuss.

Possibly legit - but recommend never giving details over the phone if you didn't do the calling!

Think it’s a scam. She said she was from comm bank, but didn’t use my name at the start of the call. Then she hung up on me when I hesitated about talking to her.

Missed call from this number at 1855 today. I usually bank with Commbank but I would expect that if it was anything urgent, they would have left a voicemail. I did not ring back

I received a call from this number and as I was busy with another call I sent it to voicemail. When I checked my voicemail a gentleman (calling from a call centre of some sort) had left a message laughing and saying “yeah yeah it’s an Indian...It’s appropriation...It’s because of movies made in Hollywood...if it was a black man...yeah yeah it’s an Indian ok you’ve been caught”. That’s a clean summary of what he said. I’m not sure what it was all about but just the attitude of the individual that called me was enough to put me off. I don’t care where he is from or what he is doing (people have tried to scam me many times before) but don’t rant at me because I was busy. If he works for CBA he has caused them to lose a client just because of his bad attitude.

This number called me twice - was NOT commbank. I returned the call using my landline and no one answered. So I called commbank and they did not have any record of me requesting a call. Commbank advised me to block the number.

Commonwealth Bank, I half filled in a personal loan application and they asked me if I'd like to complete the application process. Seemed legit

Caller: Comm Bank

The same number has rang twice, no message the first time. When I answered the 2nd time they said it was the CBA asked to confirm my details and I hung up. Not too comfortable giving up details over the phone.

Keep getting calls from this number and they do not leave a message.
