Had a recorded message on my phone yesterday 22 November to say they were Human Resources Centerlink Canberra , had been trying to contact me for some time and gave ph no to call back (02) 8607 5068 with a reference No 080456. Office hours 10am -6pm. I also do not usually fall for these but was very convincing. Rang back and spoke to a man who said I was entitled to a pension and would make an appointment for me tomorrow 24th Nov at Centerlink. However for paper work to be activated said needed a payment of $200 for registration and would be reimbursed with my pension payment as they do not accept money in at Centerlink. Wanted me to go to a post office or Woolworths and purchase an Apple I Tunes card for $200, ring him back and he would then activate the registration , give me a receipt number and then he would forward necessary paper work through to Centerlink where I would go in and fill out necessary paper work tomorrow. The money had to be paid 24 hrs before appointment. He called himself Jason Shaw and had a foreign accent. Convinced this did not sound right I kept the conversation going trying to find out more info and then all of a sudden our conversation was interrupted with "This is the end of the tele communication call."

Same as above, but Centrelink has nothing to do with the number or the enquiry. Avoid at all costs. Scammer.

(02) 8607 5608 is an absolute scam. Called themselves human resources and centrelink asking for money so you can receive back pay with centrelink payments.
