Wife got the same recorded message , same application number, same scam. Sounded a bit dodgy so I checked on the internet.

This is a scam, claiming to be from Centrelink, exactly the same as Bob's comment above. I have phoned the real Centrelink and also the police. Beware of these thieves, don't give any information out to them, they will want your reference number to start with.

Seems to be a scam. Recorded message claiming to be from Centrelink, that the pension had been increased, but I had not responded to any letters from them and thus my account was transferred to Canberra. Wanted me to ring (02) 8607 5061 and quote application number 080456. See also number (02) 6188 5602 on this site for same scam. Tried ringing the number (with my caller ID blocked) and got "number not in service."
