Scam. Three calls during the day, left voice message. Claims to be Jason O'Connor from Tax Office, about to send Police to arrest me for tax avoidance. Very thick Asian accent. Left above number to call him back. Not Tax Office.

I am sick to death of these sum bags trying to frighten people. I'm have never been against anyone making a living but these tactics are terrible. There should be some way to stop these calls

Got the same message twice in one day

Yesterday three messages were left.

Using 1831 to block my number I called Jason O'Connor to tell him he had been referred to the AFP.

He hung up. I wonder why?

We receive these calls constantly. We just disregard them, but we are at a loss to understand why the ATO does not intervene to stop these nuisance calls.

They are still going, they left a msg, 6 June.
Spam phone.

Same story as the others. Told him to send the police, that I wanted him to, do your worst. He hung up.

Is there anything we can do to stop this? I have already reported it to the ATO and received a generic reply with no particular advice as to what to do about it. They were ringing my mobile so I've now blocked that to all but my regular contacts. These people are a bloody nuisance.

Hi Andrew, ta for your message. I got the same scam today. I was really freaking out, because I escaped from a country where police have full control over the citizenry. So when I replayed the message, my first thought was.."is the same happening here now?!

Called a friend and she suggested to SCAM SEARCH (02) 8607 5060.
That is how I got your write up. So thank U, thank U, thank U.

False message from someone allegedly from the Australian Tax Office threatening to send police to arrest me if I didn't call back.

Called back number as harassing my mother,,,asked to whom I'm speaking with Paul Williams he said,,,ok I'm senior
Detective with Australian police ID like to know why your harassing my sick 87 year old mother with your scam ,,,no no this is taxation bureau,,,ok well my son works for tax Sept this is not a recognised ato phone number,,,he started to get rattled I told him the feds and taxation office are tracking this call ,,,he hung up muttering ,,fed a scam

Number is provided in a recorded message to call a Jason O'Connor at the ATO. The message states that legal action is being taken and they are issuing a warrant for your arrest. Don't call the number, instead ring the ATO and provide them with details of the call.

Has any one had this call (02) 8607 5060 saying they are from the A.T.O taxation office.Just had one now and sounded like scam so politely told him not interested thank you ..
