Taxation Scam via a recorded electronically generated female voice, threatening that you are in trouble with taxation and have to contact them. 25/8/16 Just ignore it.

am not sure if It is a scam as they knew alot of my details both men sounded like they were from India. read out what I had done and the chages against me and that I would be arrested if I did not pay my outstanding taxes $4580.00 I would be chagred with Tax evasion and possible jail time. I said am very sorry but I did not know anything about this and that my Tax Accountant had always done my taxes, I was then told that I could make a payment and the arrest warrant will be dropped to pay my owed taxes all I had to do was to go buy Itune cards and give them the card numbers and it would be credited to my case ... Itune cards sounded a real odd way for the Tax Dep to get their money back ... be very careful ...

TAXATION SCAM - Just Hang up not worth the botther, Australian Government and Federal Police once again failing to do their Job's these calls could be tracked very very easily and STOPPED

I just got home to find my wife stressed and shaken after receiving an extremely threatening call from this number (making out that they were the ATO and threatening her with arrest).

Surely there is something that the AFP or our national security agencies can do to stop this type of fraudulent intimidation and abuse of our communication networks.

If they can't - Australia is in very poor shape indeed!

This is the 3rd time they have tried. I told one of them i was going to call the police he swore at me and hung up.

same number here told me I would go to jail if I did not pay my back taxes $2300 and that Itunes cards can be used to pay ... hung up

Same as all the others electronically recorded voice stating trouble with tax office as I have not been required to do a tax return for the past 5 years it would seem that it is a HUGE scam. Do not return the call.
