Caller: VHA (Vodaphone Hutchinson Australia) Called regarding NBN asking how many fixed lines and mobile phone services we have for our business. Claims they aren't telemarketers trying to sell me anything or get me to move to the NBN but wanted to confirm my full name & street address so that they can send out some information to me regarding the NBN currently being rolled out in our area. I told them I don't give out or authorise the use of these details for marketing, sales or other purposes and as they called me so they probably already have these details!!!

Caller: Amy Said she was from Telstra calling about an upgrade for ur phones, but we are not with Telstra, and when I asked her email so I could forward her something, the phone hung up. Felt a bit dodgy. I was a bit of an idiot because I was feeding her info and she was just agreeing.

Caller: Apparently on behalf of NBN Said NBN towers were down Asked about how many mobile and fixed lines we had and number of handsets. Our phones and internet (all though NBN) were still working so not sure how much of an issue there could be!? Asked if with Telstra - said no, an independent provider Said would send us a progress report but didnt ask where to send it!? Weird

Caller: The NBN Called saying that there were some tower upgrades happening in Invermay and asking how many Landlines and Mobiles we have. When I asked her why NBN would call about mobile towers she said something about lines had been cut. VERY DODGY.

Caller: On Behalf of the NBN Same as other reports, querying the number of installed phone lines, business mobiles and who our providers are. This was due to "tower maintenance in our area" and they'd had reports of dropouts.

Caller: A dishonest telco employee, trying to harvest potential clients She claimed to be from "the NBN" wanting to know how many business mobiles we had our carrier as they are provisioning upgrades in our area. There is no fixed wireless NBN in our area so I said "that has nothing to do with the NBN". Then she started on phone lines and in the end I asked her to send me an email and she said "OK thanks" and hung up as I was asking if she wanted my email address...

Caller: "The NBN" Assuming this call was actually from the government owned corporation, trading as 'The NBN' I would have thought it would have been a lot more official than this: "Hi, I'm calling from The NBN, how many land lines and business lines do you have under Telstra?" so knew immediately they were fishing for information to sell an NBN package. I told them I had no business mobiles with Telstra... "so who is your carrier for your mobiles then?"...I told her that was irrelevant and she just hung up??? Dodgy!
