I had a call from these guys too today. The dumb *s left their real number. So today I've blocked my number and bombarded them with over 100 calls. They have had great conversations with John Whatshisname, Luke Skywalker and Batman! They hate it! But oh how I love it when the tables are turned and its them getting spammed with calls.

Dumb c*nt posing as ATO. Got a call today from "Jason o'Connor" letting me know there's a warrant for my arrest... Bye Felicia!

This is an indian scammer posing as an investigator for the tax office. Stated his name was John Matthews, ATO id 5443 Badge Number 924853. Told him i was a federal police officer and he didn't care. Just wanted peronal info. If in doubt call the ATO personally and they can verify this info for you. DEFINATELY A SCAM. also worth reporting the scam to the ATO who is currently investigating this mob

not the same number but the same scam call..i rang him back after the 5 messages he has left...he asked for my name i swore at him and told him he was a d*ckhead...then i called him back again asked which department of the ATO I was speaking to, he told me to F*** off....i called him back and told him he was a f****** idiot...he now left a message on my answer machine saying 'i would like to f*** you in the a** please call me back so i can f*** you...not the way for the ATO to deal with you ;)

Love these guys (lol). Get real upset and hang up on me when I state that I will check up when I get to work. I actually work at the ATO !!!

Jason "Apu Singh' O'Connor has been ringing me too. Just SO obviously a scam. Love the accent.
Sad thing is, there are probably a few people out there who have actually fallen for this and have called back......

SCAM. A rather Indian sounding "Jason O'Connor", supposedly from the Australian Tax Office, left voicemail to call him back. Scary stuff like "loss filed against you" ... "tax evasion" and "local police going to issue a warrant for your arrest" and to "call him back before things get nasty".

Well dude, it already is 'nasty', ringing an unlisted number with a scam. Needless to say, I have not bothered to call "Jason O'Connor" back, nor will I ever.

I arrived home from a funeral yesterday to find a message on my phone from a Indian person by the name of Jason O'Connor advising me that a random tax audit had been done on my file an action had been placed against me in the commonwealth courts and a police officer would be at my address by Tuesday with a warrant for my arrest unless I contact him back on (02) 8599 6101 to resolve before it gets bad. so after a restless night and no sleep wondering what this was all about I called him this morning. I was told they sent me all the paperwork not by mail but by hand delivery from Mr Bob Smith and I wasn't at home to sign for it so the documents were sent back to their office. He advised me that if I wanted to resolve it out of the courts then I could not put him on hold I could not speak to anyone else and couldn't call anyone else this is the condition of it being settled out of court. He went on to advise me that if I didn't settle and wanted to go to court then all of my property and passport would be seized and that I owed an amount of $6789 and for this to be settled I would need to stay on the line with him and go to the local supermarket and purchase a tax payment card for the owed amount and none of the details were to be discussed with anyone. He said when I get to the supermarket he would give me the information of which card it might be because they are all different . This seemed really strange behaviour for the tax office. So I started to ask some question around him providing me with my Tax File Number to verify he was from ATO, he said he wouldn't do that because anyone listening could use that number as the call was recorded, so I asked if I could call the ATO and verify who he was and he said he had given me the option to settle and if I terminate the call or speak to anyone else then there is no way to settle out of court, I told him I wouldn't terminate I would call the ATO from my mobile, he denied me the option, so I asked to speak to his supervisor who was as the other comments John Mathews, he was so rude and kept talking over me and wouldn't let me ask any questions and said he had nothing more to say to me and would transfer me back to Jason, This is not the actions of a supervisor trying to resolve an issue. So Jason tells me if I don't settle now then I will also be find $29000 and started to get really angry telling me that it is now going to court and the settlement option is no longer available to me and I will have all of my property seized and passport confiscated and released to the media. I told him I will speak to the local ato, he advised me that they would not have the information because it is Commonwealth so the local ATO wouldn't have it - LOLOL how dumb are these people and I almost fell for it. I just told ahim I would take my chances and thanked him for his call. Not a happy chappy

Apparently a 'Jason' from the ATO ringing to inform me of a police officer's impending visit with a warrant for my arrest!! At least he wished me a "very nice day" at the end of the message...

SCAM!! These people have been ringing & leaving messages threatening charges of tax evasion & tax fraud since June 2015🙄 They change their number & their name switches between Jason O'Connor & Ken Matthews unfortunately the terrible accent never changes!

I had the same phone message on a phone that is rarely attended. So who knows how often he rang before finally leaving a message. The phone is in a weekender, haha. A total scam. So obvious. The ATO sure wouldn't ring anybody and offer a solution. Glad to read all the comments, it helps a lot. BEWARE

This number left a horrible message saying a warrant had been issued for an arrest due to tax evasion. Says he's from the ATO and yes finished the message with 'have a very nice day'... Has to be a scam and I'll report it to the tax office.

They called leaving a recorded message with their number advising I was going to be up for tax evasion and that I would have a visit from the police department shortly to arrest me. I was unable to speak to anyone when I returned their call, they allowed the phone to ring several times then hung up

Had this guy call today Name John Doople , said from ATO ,let him bullsh*t on and on .
Then told him what i thought of his Bullshirt Scam ...... Dont think he likes me now .

Phoned today leaving a message on the answering machine saying he was from the ATO and police from my local station would be around with a warrant for 'your arrest for tax fraud'. As he did not mention the name of the person who was supposed to have committed the tax fraud thought it was suspicions so thought I would check the number on reverse phone list.

morons are still using the same number, called my son today
though they have been swearing a lot since my son and I have been calling them, and my friends have been too, with various aliases and requests.
