Caller: Pretended to be from NBN Hard to understand completely with a thick Indian accent, tried to tell me there was a problem with the NBN in my area, tried to throw in a few technical terms in the hope that I'd be confused and give him the info he was after. When explaining that he had called me on a VOIP number that was using the currently working NBN connection to function, he persisted for a while, saying there might maybe potentially be some problems "in your area", then asked how many lights were on my modem. He could not possibly have a clue which brand or model it was for him to know how many lights was a good number in any case, so I just told him that there exactly as many lights as there needed to be for a functioning internet connection, as it was functioning well enough for our VOIP call, and for me to do all of the things necessary to run a business, as well as stream content pretty much flawlessly. The modem has been up and running for 23 or so hours, having installed a firmware update yesterday, but it had been running and connected continuously for over 400 hours before that, so I call bullsh*t and some kind of scam that failed to get me. He eventually hung up and, I assume, moved onto his next potential victim.
