Yes, ring me occasionally but hang up without answering. Can't they be stopped? I'm sure the money doesn't go to the Rural Fire Service. It's a scam. And why doesn't the RFS do something to protect their reputation?

No matter how many times I've asked to be taken of their database I'm still getting calls. I don't answer any more but boy it's annoying and inconvenient. Besides we already support our local RFS, why don't they "get it".

Great work done by the rfsa. Great organisation and happy to donate. I guess if people don't call people would probably not give.

Sick of getting calls from this number too so rang the number back and in a recorded message they give you a number to ring 1300 886 067 and they can take you off their calling list. I just did this ,should have done it sooner.

I called the number back after not answering. It just rings once and cuts out. I urge everyone to contact their Federal MP to complain that the do not call register is not enough to stop these idiots, and also to protect small business from them

at least once a day phone rings and automatically hangs up when I answer. If it is the RFS they are probably trying to find out when people are home so they know when to call you and ask for donation. All I do for these sorts of calls is ask them what percentage of any donation actually finds its way to the Rural Fire Service and they tell me only 30% so I hang up.

Call 2-3 times every day. I rarely answer phone now, that's how I know they ring every day, star 10 hash. They ring around same times every day. On the very odd occasion I answer their is silence for a few seconds then they hang up. Why can't they be stopped with the amount of people that has complained about this number? I am also on do not call register. I have a 086228.... Number blocked through Telstra that is also a call centre number that does same thing, probably same company.

Called claiming to be RFS. No doubt it's another commercial call centre which contracts to them. These mobs charge something like 70% when they get a hit, so I won't donate anything to anyone soliciting me this way. I'm on the do not call register and they don't respect that. There was a call centre in Queensland continuing to harass me so I reported that one to Do Not Call, they advised they were "on notice". I feel it's time to stop this racket which really sees little of anyone's donation going to the charity which they claim to represent.

Sama old story here too. They call on a regular basis and hang up as soon as I answer. I have now blocked the number.

Claimed they wre selling tickets for a raffle for NSW RFS, looked this up and noted that the RFS does not fundraise this way, however the RFSA, http://www.rfsa.org.au, do.
Either way, it's a stupid way to fundraise, with all the scams out there now who would give their personal details to someone who called up and claimed to be from any organisation

Yep, they hang up. An old call centre trick to boost an individual's call logs.

I only answered thinking that it might have been a legitimate medical-related caller. Answered only to get a delay of silence and then hung up on. Yet more Wayne Kerrs that the world doesn't ever need. Get a life and stop harrassing people. When are these kinds of fools gonna realise that if we want to have contact with something or someone, then WE AND WE ALONE will initiate contact with them. We won't have any silly person call us and tell us what we supposedly need or want and try and shove it down our throats

They are fund raising for the RFS. However, not all of the money raised goes to the RFS. Unfortunately being on the DNC register doesn't mean that you won't get calls from certain charities. I think that it would be in the best interest of the RFS to try and find another way to raise funds to support the good work that they do. The RFS would not need to fund raise like this if they were given more financial support from the state government.

They are not the Volunteer Fire Brigade but a magazine publisher that sells advertising space in a Volunteer Fire Fighting magazine. It is a complete rip-off. None of your money goes to the VFFA, they only get a magazine for free - yay! The publisher is Emergency Media Pty Ltd, they are based in Melbourne.
