Hi everyone I just read all your complaints about the RFSA, asking for raffle tickets. I know sometimes this can be annoying for you as they do ring at inconvenient times, but please understand, it is not the indented of the persons calling to upset you, but to give you information so you can make an informal choice, on whether, you want a ticket or not, if they don't ask they don't get. Unfortuntantly people are on the DNC, but we don't know that until it is explained, and if you did explain, you will most properly get an apology, and put onto there don' call register, and not called again. They don't leave messages, because it is too costly, and are ringing for a charity, and want to keep cost down as low as possible. As for some people getting no answer on the other end, well it is just what happens with the phones now and then, it is not done to you on purpose. But the people who ring and ask for help are doing it because they believe in the cause, and are humans also, so we don't need to be abused or told off, with discussing language, all you have to do is listen and if you buy a ticket or don't that is fine. Maybe we have educated you on a service or charity you where not aware off, and maybe one you might need their help, and if nobody gives, then when you need the service it is not there because people didn't give

Interesting note from the RFA site:
The NSW Rural Fire Service Association (RFSA) have reported that scam phone calls are being received across the State, where people are claiming they are raising money for the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS).
In response to this, the NSW Rural Fire Service wishes to make clear that the RFS does not accept or solicit donations by telephone. Some local brigades undertake fundraising in this way, however they identify themselves as the Brigade and not as the Service.
The NSW Rural Fire Service Association conducts raffles as a fundraising initiative. These raffles are conducted through a telemarketing company and comply with the requirements of the NSW Dept of Gaming and Racing. Donations are not solicited.

Caller: RFSA you can ask them to take you off their call register but they don't. I am still getting calls years later. Very annoyed is the polite way of expressing my feelings regarding these calls. I prefer to donate directly to the brigade as I know they get it all and not a small percentage. The telemarketing company gets most of it not the charity.

Caller: Called On Behalf On The RFSA Having working for the company that dose the raffle fundraising on BEHALF on the RFSA "Not the RFS" i can confirm it is legitimate. Please understand that sometimes, just like any job you do have people employed that are not good at what they do or just don't care. Consider this, in 2018 the raffle fundraiser netted 2.6 million Australian dollars. Feel free to watch the rfsa press conference yourself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PukggFnUoo&t=568s

We are on the DNC register. They are registered as a charity or not for profit . But they call anyway, I ask them to remove the phone number from their database which they agree to but never do. They have been doing this for many years and my wife is so intimidated by their unscrupulous practices that she refuses to answer the phone. I have given up being polite. I saw a program on TV and an article in the newspaper a few years back claiming that this organisation donates a small proportion of money to the RFS. The remainder pays for wages and overheads for the collection agencies with highly paid CEO. Doesnt pass the smell test

They called and hung up without leaving a message. I am registered on DO NOT CALL and find this type of behaviour intrusive and irritating both at work and at home

This number rang me & hung up before I got to answer it. I rang back & the message said something about a fund raising department. I guess they were ringing to raise funds for something. My number is on the DO NOT CALL REGISTER.

Ha. I just got a call from this number also. When I tried to ring it back the voice message said "We regret that this number is not connected or is unavailable" then I just tried it again and it said about fundraising and they would try again soon.My number is also registered with DO NOT CALL but as I found out the other day that register does not apply to charities and government agencies.I don't like that.
