As per the goverment website, the NSW Rural Fire Service DOES NOT seek donations over the telephone. Bar the calls from 02 8524 59xx.

This number called me today. He said he was calling for donations on behalf of the volunteer fire brigade

They call and don't leave a message - I am on the "don't call register" and have been for a long time. Am blocking now

This number has started calling me again after a hiatus of about 5+ years, they don't even bother to leave a message. Not wasting my time calling back.

The 5900 number calls me on my mobile. I guess they must have plenty of money to be able to call mobile numbers. I didn't answer the call and they didn't leave a message on message bank.

Also calling from 5990 ring back and its a disconnected number. I am on the do not call database but it doesnt cover charities.

I've just *10# my phone to find (02) 8524 5970 was my last call, sometime early this afternoon.  I wasn't familiar with an '85' phone prefix for any of my friends or family so I googled to find out location in NSW, and hence I got this website.  I haven't called back and don't intend to, and I've been on the No call Register for years.

Had a break from this caller since my last one in May but got one today at 1:30pm - Have saved the number and programmed it in my home digital phone under the heading "spam caller" . so far I've saved 3 numbers like this but each time they call now I just look at the id screen on my phone and ignore it. that way it doesn't waste any of my time. the numbers I've accumulated now are as follows:

called back, recorded msg about a local fundraiser initiative.

Got a call from a similar number at 5.55pm - (02) 8524 5907 and got fundraising msg when I called back to see who it was.No message was left on my phone.Have also recently received calls from (02) 8524 5994 and they said they were calling about fundraising but would give no further details.

had calls from 8524-5900 twice in two days, always at 10am. its goes to voicemail but nobody ever leaves a message

I travel a lot, and hate when this number calls in the middle of the night. Seems to be numbers in the 0828524900  thru to  999  as I have a collection of numbers all with different last 2 digits.
I never answer these numbers now.
