Caller: Tech Micro They rang 4 times before they got through to me. They knew my name. I asked her to stop right there and said "...this is not a wanted call and could you please remove me from your call list...". She seemed surprised and said OK, I said "Thank you, goodbye" and hung up......See if they call back.

Just got a hangup with no message from this number. Imagine how many people are being annoyed by this entity, it would be exponentially more than the number of people leaving comments on this site. There should be a way for Telstra to block it.

Caller: Said she was calling on behalf of TAF Lady called our business and asked for our IT Manager but referred to her by name. Already was fishy because though the lady she referred to was an actual employee and usually helped us with IT issues, she wasn't officially the IT manager and we do not advertise as such. She refused to give more information except to rattle off a lot of long words that pretty much meant it was something to do with getting security. I asked her to send us an email or to give us a contact number but she was quite quick to brush that off (saying that she needed to needed to verify some important information) and say she will just call again at a later time before hanging up. Didn't immediately scream "scam" or "unprofessional" until near the end of the call.
Be wary and don't give out any information.

The IT Manager of the data centre
Posted on October 31, 2018 Caller type: Unknown Location: Australia
Called and said she wanted to speak to the "IT Manager of the Data Centre". I said I'm that person but that our data centre is hosted in the US by the NSA. Said she'll send me some info on "data centre strategy for the end of the financial year". I said yeah, sounds great, but it'll be better if she spoke to the NSA directly and that they were expecting her call. Gave her the number she called me from and hung up.

They are calling 3 to 4 times a day. I cannot block the call as the phone system we use does not let me block numbers. Driving me nuts.

It is Tech Republic telemarketing your details on behalf of other vendors like Symantec

This company is Tech Republic. they have gathered your contact details at some time and then sell a tele-call centre service off to companies like Symantec (the name of one that called me) and others.
When they do get through to you, quote the Australian Privacy Act and ask them to remove your details from their CRM.

Getting at least 1 call a day from a number in this block for at least 3 months. I screen them out as I never answer a call I'm not expecting. This is getting ridiculous and is very annoying/time wasting.

Called on mobile and act as someone from my company and ask - "Can I talk to your IT managre"? I believe that they have hacked some information about the person's detail...

Several calls received - first, no one there... second three rings then hung up, third : I hung up! Seems to be an auto dialer for outbound calls collecting/ confirming email addresses for distributing product promotional white papers for the IT corporates. Request removal from list if you don't want these calls - I just have after receiving an email from a sales Rep from "SalesForce.com".
