Caller: Origin Energy Tried calling me repeatedly, even though I had told them I was leaving for another energy provider. They had their chance to give a competitive plan, but only wanted to do so after I had signed up to another provider. Pathetic!

Caller: Definitely Origin I switched to a cheaper supplier and within days of doing so Origin rang me 2-3 times a day. An incredibly annoying way of doing business. I'd been with them for over 2 years and they never called me. It would make more sense to hang onto your existing customers by looking after them than this annoying knee jerk reaction to losing you! Number blocked.

I've received 3 calls from this number today alone. I blocked this number the other day after they called me. I haven't been with Origin Energy for a long time so they shouldn't be calling me this frequently. It definitely seems like a scam.

Caller: Claimed to be origin Missed a call from a similar number (02) 8514 2136 and rang back. Got a recorded message saying it was Origin Energy who were contacting me regarding my account. Like several others on this post, I have recently switched my account to another service provider. Transfer has already been completed. No reason for Origin to call now.
One of the posts states that when they checked with Origin, they did not have any record of the calls. My guess is that someone has access to when people change account and is providing the information to scammers so that it seems legit. If in doubt, always end the call. Do not provide any information regarding name, address, etc.

Caller: I identified this number as 1 of Origin Energys nos Like other Scammer Scam Calls Callers & Electricity Phone ISP Companies or similar other callers businesses organisations doing this
I've also been receiving many new & repeated phone calls from same & different numbers for months or longer to my landline ph no & they never leave messages. But I don't have a menu setting on my landline phone I know of to block ph numbers
I can though & do this with my mobile phone
I've also been receiving calls from 02 85 142 140 & other O. E. numbers to my landline no. since I changed Electricity Services Provider They never leave messages either or those they're contracting to phone existing former new or potential customers even those scammers linked or part of Electricity or other Companies like Origin or others who are making Scam Calls
Last 2 days as egs I noticed on my landlines phone new calls log I received 4 calls from this 02 85 no So I decided to search this no. as do across internet at times for other select ph nos & yes once again it's from Origin Energy as confirmed on this actual site So I decided to phone them gave very explicit message to reception person had to go through ph menu 1st typical thing with many businesses organizations Told them to stop phoning to my number & they never leave messages
Also told them it's Illegal to some extent for companies others to keep doing this which is Impeding or Breaching Persons Privacy Human Rights as many of us know or Experience And told them Origin Energy Bus. could have just simply sent me an email or postal letter on whatever matters they wanted to contact me on as I'm an existing customer with my home Electricity Sevices still in transition process to new Electricity Services Provider
Also there's indications Evidence on sites search results like this site of Ph Callers doing this & repeatedly leaving no machine or voice messages either to be Illegitimate Unsolicited &/ or Scammer Calls
I also told person spoke to remove my phone numbers from Origin Energys Customer Database which they said they did And they confirmed O. E. or they're contracted representatives won't phone to my numbers again

Same old story, 8514 2140 called and when our answer 'phone came on, hung up. This is very annoying because being our landline, I can't block it.

Caller: Origin Clearly Origin has been advised we are switching providers and now the constant phone calls are flooding through!! Should have been more interested in providing more competitive pricing BEFORE we switched - even though their ‘best offer on the market’ is still more expensive than our chosen new provider!! Idiots!! BLOCK!!!!

The first call I asked them not to call me back, and told them that if I was in the market for a new provider I would contact them. Just then they called and I told the operator that I'd already asked that they not call me again and she hung up

Caller: Origin Energy Thank you for all comments. I too am continuing to be pestered by this number. This is supposed to be blocked but a text has now come through saying I have missed a call from them! I had moved my electricity account from Origin to Alinta. An Origin person did manage to contact me and asked why. Financial advantage was the reply Origin was then interested in doing something about this! I explained that it would have been better if they had done something about this beforehand. I see another comment similar to this!

Caller: Probably Origin I have attempted to switch from Origin to Energy Australia since September. Origin keep sending out bills for doing as estimate only. I have tried numerous times to have them organise the final metre reading but they won't do it. All they seem to be trying to do is call to try and keep me as a customer. I will be lodging a formal complaint.

Caller: Origin Keeps calling me but when I pick up all I can hear is a long continuous tone. I hang up, then get a call again after a few minutes with the same tone sound.
I'm pretty sure it's Origin trying to bring me back to them because I switched.
