Received recorded message. Apparently I'm getting done for tax evasion. Called back and spoke to two Indians. Made me cry. ALWAYS LOOK UP ATO NUMBER AND CALL THEM.

SCAMMERS - telling you that you owe tax and being done for tax avoidance and owe thousands and will be issued an arrest warrant so ring before the legal papers arrive to sort out. WRONG!!!!! SCAM SCAM SCAM ALERT!

Yep got three calls (two to message bank and one I spoke to) told him a scam and hung up.

first I received twice an registered voice with no accent seing that i did not sign and send back to register letters seing that I did not pay my taxes for 10 years and iI am owing 4500 $ then some body will come at home and I would go for 75 hours in prison, but IF I Paid 2000 today, they would stop the procedure. There did not want me to hang up then my daughter think that there have a sort of benefice from my long call. It seems to be well Known, between aged people, I am 80 and was in chock

Yes scam. I even called my solicitor. Then spent over an hour and a half with REAL ATO and had to put voice recognition and security to my tax file number. I've told them to bugger off but still get calls and automated messages left on answer machine saying I have a warrant and will b held for 72 hours if i don't pay them $5881 for avoiding taxes which my accountant does every year. I was in tears the 1st time.

I was called four times this morning. I called the number and asked for the location of their office. I was told they were at 279 King Str, Newcastle, Sydney. I asked where in Sydney the suburb of Newcastle was, he couldn't answer. I then made up a ridiculous question and asked him for his ATO authority number. He then hung up.

that number has called 3 times in 1 hour today. wish they would go away

Had these guys call our work number. Called back and said I was Jim Carey. Wanted my address so just said you should have that, he got angry and said I don't have it and need to identify you, I said you called me so you should have my address, he hung up on me. Going to pass this on to all my mates and spam them back :)

This number calls all the time. Left recorded message saying I am guilty of tax evasion and to call them back on a Sydney number but when they call my
home phone displays overseas.

Received a message on the answering machine. Rang the number. Hung up. Rang the tax office and reported it.

Called listened to msg googled number this popped up

Received recorded message, telling me I was guilty of tax evasion and to call this number. Obviously a scam. I did not phone back.

Received call as well. Also got an Indian but couldn't understand. Asked to speak to someone who didn't have an accent. Got another Indian. Told I was unlawfully receiving a pension. At 1st thought someone may have used my identity but when I refused to talk to 2nd Indian they hung up. Very convincing. The Sydney number is what got me. Do not give out any info. A total scam.

SCAM! "voicemail" is left saying you're doing to jail if you don't call them. Two rings and they answer "hello ATO!" The same person from the voicemail. Disgusting creatures trying to steal from innocent Australians. CALL THE ATO DIRECTLY USING A NUMBER FROM THE ATO WEBSITE AND REPORT THE SCAM ON 1800 008 540. They were stupid enough to call an accounting firm and get themselves dobbed in to the ATO for their illegal nonsense.
