Have received several calls. Automated voice telling me that the ATO is after me for tax fraud and I should contact my lawyer.

I called the number back today as I knew it was a hoax, I told them I had just taken the message to my local police station who told me it was a hoax, they soon hung up. Definately a Nigerian type voice, always on the hunt for money. Grrr

Same here. Warning us about some BS tax fraud and must call back to avoid consequences. Not very convincing. Hand the number to the Police.

Got called twice in one day, both times it was left as a message. Exactly the same guy speaking in the same tone (probably a prerecorded message) from the ATO about tax fraud and to avoid the consequences. Definitely a scam as I had one a month ago but it was a robot.

Received the same message after I let it go to the answering machine, which is my default position most of the time for "cold callers".

This number calls us at least once a day. Today they left a message saying that they are from the ATO and we need to call back asap to avoid the consequences. Dodgey as.

Received several calls from this number and, surprisingly, the caller actually left a message, or rather, half a message. I thought he said something about the census so I called back - twice. Each time the number rang and then dropped out. Today I received another call and this time the message was clearer. He said "call back to avoid the consequences". Might call Telstra 'unwanted calls' instead.
