Call to fix an allege virus on my Mac

Scam! - acting as if from ATO, claiming tax investigation and pursuing criminal charge & fine.
Indian accent people.
Reported to ATO's scam hotline 1800 008 540)

same recorded message telling us we were delinquent and threatening warrant for our arrest..blah blah... thankgoodness for this site.. settles our worries...

Called this morning. It was obviously a recorded message but it was terrible quality and was breaking up so I didn't get to hear the gist of what they wanted. I managed to make out they want me to call this number back.

Rings once a week. Total scam acting as the ATO...just block them.

recorded message claiming to be ATO.. criminal charges will be brought against you ...blah blah... would like to know how these recordings are allowed onto our phones?

Hoax Tax Fraud call, claiming that you will have a delinquent tax return and threatened with a Court Order. Asked to provide your Tax File Number. Upon refusal to give the number, they hung up.

Have had 3 recorded messages saying from ATO there is a discrepancy in my tax. Threatening sounding voice. Threats of have a police summons on me. Call this number. Definitely a scam.

They said they were from the ATO.

Recorded message: telling me after an audit on my tax return, it has resulted in a warrant for my arrest and I must call another number.

Now this phone number is saying its the tax department and they will issue a warrant for arrest due to non lodgement of tax not mentioning any name and saying you have refused to accept registered mail

This was a call related to tax scam.Call for details or go to Gaol.

Received a scam call representing the Australian Taxation Office on this and other numbers.

Got prompted to call this number via a pop-up on my mac. Well spoken indian answered the phone and then put me on to another indian who said he was in silicon valley. Tried to get my credit card details to sell me an apple care protection plan then hung up when I refused. This is defintely 100% a scam. Have no doubt. DO NOT call this number.

Got a similar call today (4-Oct-15) around 5pm. An Indian-sounding person responded on the other end. This increasingly looks like a scam.

This is a scam!!!
I had to force quit safari twice for it to disappear.
I'm not sure how it appeared but it wouldn't go away.
