My mum had a phone call from an Asian male claiming to be from ATO. He warned her that a warrant for her arrest has been issued and she will be approached by a police officer from her local branch. He asked her to phone (02) 8417 1021. She's 77 years old and it scared her so much she nearly had an asthma attack. This has to stop. I hope this person gets caught.

same as above. I'm reporting it to Scamwatch in the hope they will eventually catch these timewasters. Why bother? Because my old mum or your old mum might fall for it.

Just had a call from this number.. answered and could hear noises in the background but no one responded to my repeated hello. I called the number back and it was answered "Australian Tax Office" ... the guy asked my name... i told him and he just kept asking if i was Michael Jackson over and over... i hung up and did a reverse search and got this page... very suss.... I believe that impersonating the ATO is highly illegal.

I received the same voicemail as others: Claims to be Jason O'Connor from ATO. Says he is calling in relation to a tax evasion case that has been lodged against me and is going to court. Warns me that a warrant for my arrest has been issued and that I will shortly be approached be a police officer from my local branch. Asks me to phone him back on (02) 8417 1021 before the situation escalates. Ends message by wishing me "a very nice day!". Asian/American sounding male accent. I'm so sick of my phone all of a sudden running red hot with scam callers. Yet another number to save in my phone under "Do Not Answer".

left message - claims to be ATO and that they have issued a warrant for your arrest due to tax evasion. Apparently a member of the local police will be coming to arrest me shortly. However, they hope I " have a very nice day "! Seriously, who falls for this bs?
