Had this number call two days in a row now. Nobody speaks and after a few seconds a recorded computerised voice says "goodbye"

I am getting two or three of these calls a day - it is getting really annoying.

Same as last complaint. I get a dodgy call around the same time every afternoon
So over it!

Silence greets us each time we answer this call. As if someone is verifying if someone is at home?

Caller: Scammer

Fed up with scammers phoning. Surely the Government and/or our phone provider can do something to have the phone numbers of each of the scammers blocked from phoning - particularly the overseas one who have numbers a mile long, ie, more digits than Australian phone numbers. I have read that under no circumstances should we return the phone call to any of these numbers. If we should do that then we can expect an excessive charge on our next phone account.

Annoying, no one on the other end then a recorded "Goodbye" from this number. How do they get away with this and why does it happen?
