Dear Origin Energy, have the courtesy to leave a message. Due to prior instances of abusive calls, I don't answer any unknown number trusting if they genuinely need to speak to me they'll leave a message. kind regards Dianne

It's a RoboCall from Origin Australia asking me to pay a bill that I have already paid! I have recently disconnected with Origin as they are way too disconnected from their customers.

Caller: Origin Energy An unknown number so I didn't answer. Origin if you want people to answer or contact you in return then leave a message. Better yet use the email address that is provided with our accounts. Your bills can certainly find us via email !!

Origin Energy are aggressive phone marketers. Calling them is a waste of time - spent 19 minutes on hold one day before moving to plan 'B' search their site for media contacts - this will yield mobile phone numbers are direct emails.7
If you strike out searching their site, you can find parliamentary and/or regulatory or pricing submissions. Grab the name and email and away you go.
Always be polite and well reasoned, they delete emails from those who display signs of being unhinged.
Once you achieve your objective of stopping the endless calls, your work is done. A thanks might be nice. Here are some Origin contacts:
They will tell you that they only deal with media requests, so make a media request or fill their inbox and voicemail. Watch their creativity blossom.

I received 2 calls from this number (who claim to be Origin Energy) today asking me to press 1 to proceed with the call, then they hang up.
I called Origin Energy & they have advised that this number is not connected to them in any way.

I don't have an account with Origin, so why are they calling me while I am working. I am on the do not call register, so if this is a marketing call - I will report

I Received 2 calls today within 5 minutes of each other, I have already started paying my bill by instalments but they still badger me. I received an automated call reminding me my bill was overdue by 1 week (ha) the dummies that make the calls can surely see that I was already paying the bill off by looking at their computer screens. What bothered me most was some automated robot on the other end was asking me for the telephone number that I had used when I opened this account (which was probably years ago) as it followed on from the takeover of Energy Australia and whoever owned it previously, needless to say, some 12-15 years ago when I first opened it. Not only were they asking for the telephone number, they wanted details of my full name and if I was that person, to press 1 on the phone dial pad, (how easy is that, date of birth, bla, bla, bla, just by entering it into a phone they have most of my personal details.....No wonder we have so much identity fraud in this country. Very silly way to go about chasing up your creditors with all this identity information being stolen. The cheek of Origin asking me to provide personal details so they can verify who I am. ARE THEY KIDDING? They called me, I didn't call them, totally wrong of them! ORIGIN, You can wait for your money. The remainder will be paid off within the month as promised and don't telephone me or text me because I don't give out personal information willy nilly.to anyone. You would be wise to take all these complaints on board, operate your business in a professional manner and there would be no need to pay people who work for you in another country disguising themselves as Australian.....Give us credit where credit is due, we are not that easily fooled.

Caller: Robocall said it was Origin Energy A robot tells you "its origin energy and to stay on the line because its important you complete this call". I hung up straight away as it feels like a scam. A normal professional company will personally dial your number an speak to you politely, especially if they want something from you.

Scammer asking me to press buttons to "pay" a few cents. I pressed every button on the phone (not as ORDERED) while the phone scammer robot kept talking. Todays entertainment which keeps them from contacting some one who might end up with their bank emptied.

The reason these scammers are able to target people who genuinely use origin is there is someone within origin who is stealing customer info and selling it to the scammers. That's how they make their scams sound semi-legit.

Caller: Origin Energy I've made a series of complaints to Origin about a bill, and their way to attempt to fix my concerns is to have a computer call me. If you leave a message and provide me a direct line to call back (not a 1300 number) then I will very happily comply.
