Caller: Legal department of Services Australia?? Scam Call??

I answered phone call and said "Good afternoon". After a few seconds, an automated message began, "Attention, this is a call from the legal department of Services Australia...". At which point, I hung up.

My guess is it's a scam.

Rings but hangs up when you answer

A Sydney number I don't know called me I didn't answer as I'm fed up with scammers and one seems to be the same as the other calls I've received. I can't be bothered anymore, just don't answer.

I posted earlier that this number called me but didn’t leave a message. The phone app ‘Hiya’ detected that it’s a scam call/fraudulent call. Lucky me I didn’t answer it.

Rang very briefly without leaving a voice message.

Gentleman doing a "Lifestyle Survey", really bad survey methodology used. Followed up with a call from 0467 898 060.

Got a call from this number on my mobile in Brisbane on 15 April 2021. I did not answer. No message was left. I looked up the calling number on the internet, and was taken to this site, so thought I might as well report that this number still seems active.

I answered (02) 8317 3634 and they hung up. I tried to c all back and got a message that thee phone is no longer in use. SCAM! I'll block it but seems like they're just able to keep generating new numbers so I am forever blocking numbers.

when I call back it says the number is not connected

same happened to me.

I received call from this number, research about if Sydney is good place to live, and if government supporting enough elderly people. The answer is yes or no.
Hope this is not to authorise transaction. as mostly I answer "yes"

Asked if I wanted to do a survey. Call centre. Lots of background noise.

(02) 8317 3634 - Caller knew my name, said they were from “Informed Australia” wanted to do a short survey, 1st question “is Australia best place to live?”, I asked again where they were from, told them I wasn’t interested & hung up.I tried to call number back to see if legit, and got message the mobile number I had tried to call had been disconnected (was a Sydney 02 code number NOT a mobile number) absolutely sick to death of these types of calls

I didn't answer the call from (02) 8317 3634. No message left. I rang back and number is engaged. May be trying to scam someone else.

They pretend to be from some business directory and try to elicit details. The number doesn't allow you to call back.

They said that they wanted me to do a survey. Didn't do it and hung up. They knew my name somehow

Automated message saying my bank account and tax file number had been compromised. Generally recognised as a scam looking for personal details.

Scam call saying my TFN had been seized and that I was about to be arrested and sent to federal court. Automated initial message which then connected to a call centre
