Still doing the rounds as at 21 Dec 2015 - same as others, claim to be from ATO, criminal cased lodged for tax evasion and fraud - take matter seriously and deal with in a timely manner - it's a scam logged with ATO on 1800 060 062

Good scam, they claim to be the ATO and legal action, court, arrest that afternoon, Jail time, not sure the point of it all was, I told them to send the officer around and get me !! d*ckhead....

8 February 2016 @ 0900hrs - received a message on answering machine from Sue Johnson (Johnston ?) purporting to be from ATO calling re. action against me and asking to call back (02) 8317 3377 immediately as the matter is time sensitive.

Received such messages now from 6 different numbers (4 in recent weeks) and 2 from last year.

Good fun for retired people.

Very annoying call , same message as everyone has been getting.( Ato... Tax fraud crap) these people need to stop !!!

Same type of message on answerphone. Obvious rubbish and number is engaged when I tried to call back (now realise I don't need to)

Same as other reports. As was said by others, very strange accent.

Just received a message pretty much the same as the others listed here, no name left just saying they are acting on behalf of the ATO and they will move forward with legal action but have a lovely day!

Yes same message threatening legal action for tax evasion etc. SCAM!!

Same as previous reports. My name not given, they called on a number not registered with the ATO, and very weird computer like accent. Scared me initially, but just more scam artists plying for money.

On 20 November 2015 a caller from a private number left a message threatening issue of an arrest warrant and legal action against us (not named specifically) for tax avoidance and/or tax evasion, but gave us the opportunity to settle up before it was too late. The number to ring back was (02) 8317 3377. The caller states that this matter is time sensitive. Read out in a strange accent.

Message left on landline from a young male, clear spoken US English (perhaps) with an Indian or possibly Filipino accent, informing (no name mentioned) - that they ".. have registered a criminal case agains your name concerning tax evasion and tax fraud ... please call back on direct hotline number to the ATO headquarters ... " Scumbags
