Was called & asked to call this number as I was to receive $6335 from gov for over charges in 2015 by bank. Have to get a form & pay a 'fee' at PO with a western union sending form to cover lawyers.......scam scam !!

I was called by what sounded like a female overseas call operator with the tale about $6335 in overpaid bank fees...I was given this number to call and even had a case number...it was clumsy and so obviously a scam.. from the sound of it there were a number of other telephone operators in the background so perhaps one of the Philippine call centers is trying to make a few dollars on the side..

Thanks to all those guys who reported this before me! I got my offer of $6k 15/3/2016.

Same call here, offering over $6300 in re-imbursement. Googled number to call before actually calling it, and found all these scam alerts. Bummer, was looking forward to getting a fat cheque. 14 March 2016

I had the same call this morning Indian Gentleman said he was from the Australian Federal Government (as If) and I had a refund of you guessed it $6335.00. Gave me a a ref number and told me to ring this number (02) 8317 1140 straight back and to ask for 1 of 3 supervisors with the names Mrs Rose Brown, Mr Max Lewis or Mr Mark Ousten what a laugh. So I guess I will look forward to receiving further calls from them as not ringing them back

received the call today 2/3/16, gave them an incorrect details and they had no idea but agreed they had the right person
Did the ask for the immediate call back to confirm the $6325??

Just recieved the call 2 hours ago and another to ask why I hadn't called back ?
Sounded far to good to be true...a Google search of the number confirmed my suspicions and led me here...At the risk of sounding racist I shall be informing these people of their race and parentage should they call again.

Received a call knew it was a scam and played along with the Indian women until I caught her off guard with her fraud she shut the phone in my face after I told her that her organisation is a scam I also recorded the whole conversation which I will post

Got the same call, is a scam, even recorded the conversation between me and the speaker.

Just got a call from the Australian Federal Government (so called) claiming that I had been over charged $6,335 and that if I called the number (02) 8317 1140 on Monday I would receive a payment. The young lady had the hide to ask me what my birthdate was to confirm 'that I was the right person'. I stated that if she was from the government surely she would already know my details. However I presented her with a fictitious birthdate and she responded by saying "yes Sir! that all appears to be correct". What a scam! How dare they!!!!!!!

they are still at it. received a similar call this morning 11 feb 2016. an Indian man. he represented himself as being from the Australian federal govt based in Sydney. the sting is in the $1740 they want to cover legal costs for the so called class action against the banks. go to post office immediately take out a western union form. all bullsh*t. Aust federal police surely can trace the number and close it down.

Tried to scam me also with the $6325 in bank overcharges owing to me. Didn't ring the number as I checked it out first on this site (thank guys). The prick had the audacity to ring me back and ask why I didn't ring for my money.

I have reported also this scam.
Should have put the phone down from the beginning. Girl gave us the number above to ring with case number. Did not ring it and advise people not to ring this number

Told me I had $6335 dollars from the government, gave me this number to call.

My sister got a this call and same refund for overcharges , I called the number to speak to a very charming man, who could not string one sentence together. Just for a laugh I asked if he had to authority to write a cheque for $6325 THEN SURELY he could deduct 'lawyer's' fee before cutting the cheque.
He hung up , and I laughed. My sister (bless her sole) was not so joyous thinking she missed out on 'something for nothing'

Seriously these pricks really get my drive me insane ... ARSEHOLES !!!

Scam, told that I had over charges by bank being refunded.

Scam telling you that you will be refunded $6325 in overpaid bank fees, then gives you the above phone number to ring to claim the money. You are then told that you have to pay your share of the legal fees that incurred in taking the banks to task before you can reclaim your money. They ask for $280 to be paid using a western union form at a post office. As if!!!! A big scam and not a very clever one at that!

Scam saying you are being refunded $6335 for over charges by bank.
They provided this number and dodgy contact names. Ended the call before hearing the rest.
