Caller: scam recorded message claiming to be from Amazon stating that my Amazon account would be cancelled unless I contacted them by "press one". Obviously hoping I will be stupid enough to contacted them and give them my bank account and credit card details.

Caller: Allegedly "AMAZON" SCAM Called 20/5 Told me my account would be cancelled and charged $39.95 unless I spoke to them by pressing #1. So I did, and the caller rabbited on and finally gave up with his spiel. I forgot to get the number and have just found out that if you dial *10# Telstra will tell you the last received phone number, and here I am.

Recorded message from the NBN saying they've been trying to contact me. Hung up on the woman caller. I notice in the above box a caller from the same number claims they are from Amazon. Surely our telcos and government can get onto this type of scum and punish them before they scam decent people. This looks like a landline number not a mobile and therefore should be able to be traced.
