Got a call from this Irish bloke asking about a recent accident, knowing full well this is a scam, I told him I've some paperwork relating to this and was waiting for this call. Kept said clown on hold whilst I amused myself with cat memes, which lasted around 5mins. Came back, got him to hold for another 5mins then informed him this number is now listed on scam-watch. See http://www.reverseaustralia.com/lookup/(02) 9099 5787 for more information...

I just received a call from (02) 8311 0892 a bloke with an sub-continental/Anglo/Irish accent claiming to be contacting me about "a third party claim that I had put in for my Mercedes Benz"..........I wish! It sounded dodgy right from the start. I told him I was sceptical and hung up. I should have told where to put a Merc!

Went to dead air on answering and disconnected in less than 5 secs. Possible telemarketer.

I entered some competition ages ago, (can't remember what for) and since then I'm sure my number has been given to a million telemarketers. This number (among others) calls me a few times a week, every week, at different times. I've never bothered answering. Pain in the ass!

Have been getting calls for months from this number, apparently i had a car accident in the last 12 months, they hung up on me when i asked wich one it was, as im a pretty bad driver so i hit alot of other cars but dont report it, as it would cost me way to much in insurance excesses! haha! I havnt actually ever had an at fault accident in 15 years of driving........

This jerk needs to be deported from the country - if even in Australia to start with. He annoys me weekly and alternatively fortnightly. Despite my telling him I will find him and remove something important to him he still continues to call. Same BS about a motor vehicle accident that has never occurred (thankfully). Usually he calls on private number but today this one.

Same number, seems to be same male caller (said name was Brian) with the Irish kind of accent, telling me that it had been determined that the accident had been deemed not to be my fault so payment was going to be made to me for this. Knowing full well that this was a scam as I have spoken to someone previously about the "accident" bit, I gather now this next phone call was to try to get your bank details so money can be scammed out of your account, NOT THE PAYMENT PUT IN. I hung up in telling him that it was just a scam and it will be reported. He didn't seem to care.

The number is registered to Symbio in NSW. They aren't the ones calling, but are the owners who wholesale numbers to call centres. You can contact them on (02) 9994 8555 and make a complaint. The chap said he can't do much unless the police contact him, but I suspect if 100s of people call Symbio it will be simpler for them to disconnect the number!

Have had what seems like hundreds of calls from this number , always when I answer they hang up , now don't answer when this number appears, What is Telstra doing if they have the number and knowledge of the scam? , they should be able to track him down or disconnect them immediately.

This number rings me 3 to 4 times a day, I don't answer it as I am at work. It is most annoying. I have rang the number back but it doesn't connect to anyone. How can I block this Scammer?

Been receiving calls from this number 2-3 times a day. Saved the number as "Do not answer' so when it rings, I ignored it. But this is driving me nuts. Is there anyway to trace this scammers and deep fry him.

I too had two calls from this number today. The first being this morning where he hung up as soon as I answered. The second being this afternoon and after trying to get his attention when I answered, he continued to talk to someone that was with him on the other end of the phone. He finally addressed me, said that he was calling about a car accident (I've not had a car accident in 3 years!) and I said that I knew that this was a fraudulent call. He said "I assure you that it is NOT". To which I said "I work for a telecommunications company so I will submit a complaint" whilst he was saying "yeah yeah yeah" over the top of me. He continued to talk to someone in the background and then hung up. I'm very switched on and immediately shut him down, but I feel sorry for any unwilling and naive people who are potentially robbed by this guy.

I have had frequent calls to both my landline and mobile numbers, but the line sounds dead if I answer. I have tried phoning the number but all I get is high pitched noises.
