Caller: Ruby Ruby called and said that my internet was being hacked by 70 people, wanted to know how many devices and how many people are using it. They gave me this number to call when I asked for a number. Told me my address and postcode etc.

Caller: Brian Turnbull Similar to a number of complaints above. He said he said was from Telstra Technical Department (18006596231) Gave me his Job ID Telstra DC5261 Reference No REF99+TN-61 Employee ID 18006596231 - I rang the number no success. Saying he is based in Telstra Philippines Office. The office is very noisy even for a technical person, you would think you would use a headset etc to provide support. Obviously a scam. I already contacted Telstra on hold to confirm that is the case.

Caller: Brandon Said was from Telstra as above. I called him back to let him know his order was ready to be picked up and he hung up on me. My brother called him too and got the same result.

I had the same experience. They wanted me to run a program on my computer which would allow me to check who was using my internet. 8311 0510 was the number they gave me to validate they were from Telstra - which they are NOT.

Caller: Supposedly a telstra tech. Named Brian Turnbull His imaginary telstra ID # DC5261 He gave me a reference number REF5899/TN-61 in an additional attempt to 'prove' his story. He also asked how far from my modem I was to confirm which lights were active. He wanted to confirm how many devices I had connected, presuming I had 3 connected. Which was wrong. Obviously a scammer.

Caller: Brian Bork - so he said Telstra Technical Department - (02) 8311 0510 This number showed on my phone as a private number - very pushy male - Brian Bork stated his ID with Telstra was DC52617. Illegal internet hacking and asked how far I was sitting from my internet server. I terminated the call
