Man with Indian accent said he was from ATO and I needed to call back about legal action being taken against me for tax evasion and tax fraud. He did not leave his name. Did not call back. SCAM.

Scam same as (02) 8417 2210 Indian guy pretending to be from the ATO. Called ATO they are aware of the scam, don't call back just a waste of your time

Male with an Indian accent has called multiple times leaving the same scamming message about tax evasion and fraud. They left the number for us to call back (02) 8310 7731.

For days in a row i have had messages left by different callers from this number. First a man with and indian accent then barely legible european accents. All about tax evasion and commonwealth fraud and the last call threatened arrest by local police. This is some scam preying on the uninformed or just trying to frighten good people into submission. If the tax department really wanted to contact you they would send a letter to your address and address you by name and tax file number. Do not fall victim to these scams. These people will be reported. Keep your information private.

The ATO would never call you directly or leave a message like that. Has anyone managed to work out how his scam works? Tried calling back (for fun) but he didn't pick up. What a lazy scammer.

had this message a number of times. rang them back to an indian telling me to go away. i have continued to ring this number yelling abuse at them. then had a guy answer saying his name is mark. let rip with him too. lets see how they like getting nasty calls.

Same guy called me today, obviously the same as (02) 9119 2916, I'm tempted to call him back and ask why my solicitor hasn't called him, but then he'll know my number is real.

Last week been bombarded from this number, even dumb enough to leave msg.
Oh and last night someone in my family was involved in a traffic accident in the last 2 yrs, just a pitty they didn't know who.

This Indian guy has left messages on our answering machine twice telling us to call him back on (02) 8310 7731. Glad I googled it and found this page. If he rings again and we actually answer it by accident, I'll let him know all about this page and how unpopular he is :) Thanks all!

Same idiot called me today 9/9/2016 and left message.

Have had 2 calls today from this number pre recorded message Indian sounding supposedly from ATO scam!

we too think its a scam after we did call back obviously worried, when one of them called my husband a monkey and were we sure that was our number!!

Left message asking me to call. When I did man with Indian accent said he was officer Mark from the ATO and I said I was and officer from the Australian Federal Police and for some strange he hung up.

This moron has been calling my house daily leaving messages saying something about tax fraud - I called back an hour later - he said his name was Mark and when i questioned where he was from he said he was from the My Gov department and to call him back later and hung up - definitely worth hunting down and punching in the head for being sooo annoying!

Just received same call asking me to call back with my attorney regrading tax evasion and tax fraud. Total scam
