Another scam call re 'tax avoidance' & a 'criminal case' being started if you don't ring this number. Oddly enough, they left a message on my elderly mother's answering machine (which she couldn't understand, as the chap had a thick Indian accent. I suspect that if you ring them, they will try & get your bank details, so that they can steal your money. DO NOT RETURN THE CALL - IT IS A SCAM.

I had a threatening call today from (02) 8310 6719 re tax avoidance and evasion

eric foster working on the behalf of the ato in regards to tax evasion and fraud and required immediate call back or the consequences to this is immediate and serious the ato has not changed their practise of informing on these ignore number they give (02) 8310 6711

SCAM:
Received phone message from this phone number. A male voice with an American accent spoke, claiming to be:
"JACK GATES from the head office of the ATO".

He did not say my name nor, any details about me. He called my business landline and did not want to speak to anyone specific. Tried to explain that I am not the best person to speak with, he kept speaking (as it is a recording).

His tone was stern and aggressive and, made several threats should I fail to return his phone call about court appearances and warrants for arrest.

I HAVE NOT and, SHALL NOT RETURN HIS PHONE CALL because I thought it sounded strange so googled the phone number.

My internet search results confirmed that THIS PHONE CALL WAS A SCAM.

I have several calls re tax avoidance and non payment of tax,it is a recording. This is supposed to be from the Australian Taxation Office. The Taxation office does not ring, they are wasting their time and mine.
