These guys are calling around our district and telling people that they are from Microsoft. They call saying that your computer has a virus and needs to be cleaned now (when there is nothing wrong with your computer). SCAM. These people don't even know if you have a computer, let alone what type of computer (Mac or Windows etc) you have. Test them and see.
They use a remote access program such as Teamviewer Quick Support to access your computer and show you the event log in Windows. They install a program such as UniBlue Registry Cure and pretend that there are thousands of errors in your computer when there aren't. Essentially they are playing on the fact that most people have had virus or spyware issues in the past and it's easy to believe that there may be something wrong with your computer now.
In the end they demand payment for 'repairing' your computer and charge $450 to your credit card, as well as taking your card details for a subscription service.
Hang up on them - if they detect that you even slightly believe them they will be persistent and call back continuously.

I received 2 calls from this number at the same time, they said they were from PC Technical Support, affiliated with Microsoft and that everytime I connected to the internet there my computer was showing problems. CRAP!
