Caller: Fraud Department BCU Received a missed call and returned it and spoke to a lovely Australian guy. Legitimate fraud department for BCU bank who said a ‘real estate company from the United Arab Emirates’ tried to make a large deduction from an old bank account I hadn’t used in months. Thankfully no funds were in the account. Cancelled the card over the phone. Very helpful!

Caller: Cuscal Ltd Legitimate. They told me they blocked a suspicious transaction from an American website about 3am and said I should cancel my card and order a new one. I thanked him and said I'd check with my Credit Union who investigated and then confirmed that the card had been compromised. Cancelled and a new one ordered straight away.

Caller: a voicemail left as a text but they didn't actually call first valid. they were calling on behalf of my credit union and the number they left in the message was the right number for the credit union's fraud department. fraud had been attempted so a good thing I didn't ignore the message. I rang them back through the main switchboard just in case it was a fake number.

Caller: Fraud Department? Called back and got a recorded message with number selection options. I hung up and called my bank. They checked and there was no action on my account nor had anything been referred to their Fraud Department. They informed me to block the number and not respond as it appeared to them to be a scam. I have taken their advice and advise others to ignore this number and list it as a scam.

Caller: Fraud Department Macquarie Bank Legitimate call to inform of an attempted transaction and that card was blocked etc. At first it does seem a bit dodgy as the electronic answer just says Thank you for calling the Fraud Department. But it is completely legitimate and definitely will save your money and bank account from being hacked!
