Caller: Coles Financial Service

The number belongs to Coles FS Fraud/Security team. Received a text msg from another number prior to the call saying that there were fraudulent activities detected on my credit card. I was redirected to an answering machine when I picked up the call to verify my details.

Was sceptical so I decided to check my transaction history and there were indeed unknown pending transactions from Facebook Ads. Called Coles customer service and they confirmed the number belonged to them.

It's automatic message saying "we are calling from financial fraud team; Press any key to continue"; So I simply added them to block list

got a call from someone in Coles Financial Service using this number (02) 8294 9483

Yes, was the Fraud division. Card cancelled etc.

While they asked some questions, they did not ask enough to make me wonder about identity theft.
And I could see what they were querying when I logged on to Coles MasterCard and saw the "pending transaction" from an unknown biller.

This is an automated call to advise card is blocked due to suspicious activity; then you hold to speak to someone from Fraud. It is genuine.

They rang three times today (02.03.20)...I didn't hear the first call at 13:33. Then they rang again at 13:38, then 13:39. No voicemail left at any time, and I ignored the last two calls that I did hear. Just added the number to the "Blocked" list :-)

I called back the number (02) 8294 9483 and reached vm but couldn't hear the name of the company
