Caller: Amazon Delivery Driver This number is Amazon delivery driver. I was expecting a delivery that day and the driver called when he got here from the end of my driveway. The deliveries are outsourced to contractors as the guy that delivered mine was in plain clothes and drove a family sedan. The delivery guys must call customers though some Amazon logistics app so your phone number isn't disclosed to the delivery guys, hence why the same landline number (02) 8294 8295 comes up when these delivery guys call from their mobile phone.
This number appears to be safe to answer from my experience.

Caller: (02) 8294 8295 Amazon Logistics. Legit. Received a call at 9.30 am Sunday Melbourne. Calling back goes to Amazon Automated Voicemail. Seems like some eBay delivery as I did not buy anything from Amazon.

Caller: Amazon I thought it was a scam and kept hanging up on her but it was genuinely the Amazon delivery driver. I didn't believe her as I hadn't ordered anything from Amazon but it ended up being an eBay delivery

Caller: Amazon Or calls if the package envelope is too wide for letterbox? And / or would rather personally hand it over, for package delivery security reason, instead of putting it at fairly secure area at front door, and / or just wants to meet for personal interest?

Caller: Amazon package delivery guy It *IS* Amazon delivery guy. I don't know if Amazon uses that same number for all or just one of their private contractor delivery people. He just now rang me at 2 pm today to tell me that he was standing on the footpath to give my package, maybe because the package envelope was too wide for the letterbox, or he just wanted for some other reason to personally hand it to me. He said that Amazon uses a delivery system similar to Uber etc, ie anybody can apply to deliver Amazon parcels, ie 'have wheels, will deliver.' I mistakenly thought, and told him so, that delivery duration was only 22 hours, but it was 1 day & 14 hours, in Sydney suburb. Is that Amazon phone number for all or only one delivery contractor?
