Why does the telecommunications ombudsman not put a end to this type of caller. I don’t know anyone who appreciates random calls.

I am visiting overseas, avoiding using international roaming as it costs $5 a day. If I'd answered this unknown number calling at 3am (1pm Sydney time), it would have cost me that $5. Very pleased I could check it here.

I believe this is a full on scam number. The bloke rang asking to do a survey but the funny thing was that for the first few seconds of the phone call the automated Australian Tax Office warning spiel played. Clearly they are seeking info from their so called "survey" to see if you are a good target and on the same number they do the ATO scam.
